google goes a long way when making a big purchase. |
Old people duh. Anyways, they told me this morning they went to a Toyota dealership where they are planning to buy a brand new rav4 and apparently the sales manager said he will take the used rav4 and deal directly with the used dealership...how does that work? |

Perhaps the used dealer and the dealership you are getting your car from have ties? The situation that immediately sticks out in my mind, is buying from CarsUnlimited in North Van, and then visiting JP Toyota, both places are owned and operated by JP... |

I can't speak for other manufacturers but if the car was bought from a used only lot, then I doubt it. |
Used car dealership is budget? The toyota dealership is the one by Brentwood |
even if someone doesn't understand the return policy of buying a used car, how do you not check the price of a brand new car when you're about to sign away 25k for last year's model :fulloffuck: age can't be that big a factor here |

Secondly, isn't that just a trade in? The new dealership is buying your parents' used RAV4. The dealership won't even talk to the used dealership. Why would they? Used dealership made some cash, now your parents is letting new dealership making some cash. Seriously, they need to stop right here and take it as an expensive lesson before it's gonna cost more money. Unless the transfer of ownership is not done(used dealership to your parents) then it might be a different story but I guess it's already transferred. |

PDI/Freight: $1,690 Air Conditioning Charge: $100 TOTAL: $25,855 TOTAL AFTER 12% TAX: $28,957 Also, remember some dealerships charge "documentation fee" which is a bullshit. They usually say something like "in order for this vehicle to be registered in BC, we need to document it, and there's gonna be some fee" It doesn't cost them anything to "document" it, it's just a way for dealerships to make extra markups. Motorcycle dealerships charge $400 to $800 for "documentation fee" and some super luxury cars' "documentation fee" can be $4,000 to $10,000 |
Some used dealerships offer a 3 day or 100km (Which ever comes first) return. When I bought my rsx at happy Honda. They had 7 day or 300km return |
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r476t21NZ_...owyourmeme.png It was a 2014 RAV4. Anyways, they're going to the VSA to solve this issue. |
http://cdn.niketalk.com/2/2e/2e2a19a...jimmies-1.jpeg INB4 You got taken for $25k at used car dealer, and now the "new" dealer is going to let you trade-in the 2014 RAV4 for $20k and offer a brand new 2015 RAV4 for $30k+ :lawl: idiot. |
So they fixed the problem. They talked to the GM of the used dealership and he allowed the car to be refunded. And now getting the new RAV4 from the Toyota dealership. Thanks for the help guys. You guys are awesome and god bls. |
send an email to the salesman's dean |

Either way the dealer isn't doing anything illegal, your parents are the ones breaking a contract, it doesn't matter whether they have paid or not yet, the point of the contract was that they will eventually pay. So of course if you now say that we don't want to pay they will sue you. |
