Lol last night at hr some fish was spewing 15 blind open - 50 blind open. I'd isolate with a big raise to like 25 - 45 with no limpers and he'd flat everytime. I'd miss the flop then get owned when he jams with a pair while I miss the flop. such a good game though everybody at the table had like an average chip stack of 700 while i was down 3buyins haha. Fish blew like 3k in a 3 - 4 hours. :toot::toot:

he got third for 2k. I got 4th in that tourney for 2k as well on a sunday a few months ago. was my 1st final table in a Big tourney lol

Gerbs 02-13-2015 06:55 PM

Slept at 830.. pretty good 3rd place considering I short stacked all the way. was last place from 18th all the way to 5th. At one point almost chip leader lol.

At rr just got into a big hand at 1/2

Kh2h
V1 opened 22 into 4 limpers
V2 callers
2 other callers

Flop 3h5h6s

V1 cbet 30 v2 raises to 80 I ship for 260.

Both tank and calls

Aa vs kk. I turn my flush

Verdasco 02-13-2015 07:36 PM

please dont tell me that AA guy slow played it. Deserved to lose.

fliptuner 02-13-2015 07:44 PM

Meh, AA raised 10x the bb with 4 limpers, Gerbs gambled and hit. Depending on the table dynamics, AA just got unlucky.

Called me a fish before he left :concentrate:

He won the side pot vs kings for like another 150 but he mucked haha.

fliptuner 02-13-2015 10:09 PM

Lol. He wanted to play cards not poker.

Gerbs 02-13-2015 11:37 PM

I'd only play Kxs in 1/2 and in position. Just left rr the 1/2 are like super nitty today except for this 2/5 Asian gambler doubled me up to 1.2k.

That's where I wouldn't play k2s . there's no way you can profit with the spr. You need deeper stacks for you to realize your equity.. The buy in is capped at 150bb. He opens for 22 and 5 people call now your spr is like 2.5 and your hand has no playability

That's correct. Stack sizes in 1/2 are so tiny that spr is always really low.

how big would you play

Verdasco 02-17-2015 03:43 PM

saw gerbs post on 2+2

without being results orientated (please do not post results so quick in your thread) i would of folded

AK on bb (23bb) facing open shove against another shove on big blind. - High Stakes MTT Strategy - High Stakes MTT Forum

nma 02-17-2015 05:03 PM

I rarely play tournaments but I don't think I'm folding.. I mean it would depend how many hands you have on these guys which probably isn't much.. I'd need a solid sample to make this fold.. The guys argument in the thread outlines a solid range and assumes both are good competent regs.. Its not always the case and in a spot that close I think I rather sway to the calling side.. I could be completely wrong though, I'm aware there are spots where folding AK is the best play but that usually involves ICM.. I wouldn't really be worried about the bubble, personally I'd be playing to bink it

Gerbs 02-17-2015 05:24 PM

That was my thought process ^ I'm not playing to hit the bubble in there to win. Person who won the pot ended up chip leader. Flopped a set of queens

punkwax 02-17-2015 06:20 PM

Regarding a private game, I think I mentioned this in the Poker Club Social Group that started years ago and never went anywhere, but Starlight used to provide a dealer for a 10 man tournament style game for $100 IIRC... might even be as little as $50? Can't remember... if it is $100, for a $500 pot, everyone throws in $60, and the extra $10 from each guy goes to dealer. That way someone doesn't have to open their home to strangers. I'd be into something like that... I don't take it as seriously as it seems like some of you do, but I do enjoy playing.

yameen 02-18-2015 02:26 PM

i won $400 and stacked up big on flopping straight utg with KQ (flop AJ10), check called all the way and he bet $100 on the river with AJ, i shoved all in and he snap called...too bad for him.

on another note, i saw a guy at another table up 2.5k dominating the table with every hand and hitting rivers.

Gerbs 02-18-2015 05:32 PM

Set over set then kk < qq for 230 bb. To the same guy lol. Whats the biggest buy in downswing you guys ever had?
Whwe do u ply yameen

nma 02-18-2015 06:34 PM

In terms of bb or $$ lol.. Sux.. How'd you get in 230bb prf with KK? Haha

Gerbs 02-18-2015 06:41 PM

bb, someone opens MP for 17, one dude calls, someone makes it 70. I pop it up to 160. everyone folds he jams i snap call.
