You can buy them online, from the specific state's lottery site.... Mind you if you did win you'd have to go to that same state to claim.

which state lottery site sells online? checked a few but they don't

only read about 3rd parties, but i wouldn't trust them, especially with $1billion :lol

Wednesday's draw estimated to be 1.3 BILLION! Time to pick up some tickets just for the hell of it.

If I win, I'll finally get to give Hyde that Xmas hotpot he's always wanted.

9-5 crew checking in

my quality of life would likely rapidly decline if I gained $1B USD overnight.

That's my first thought.

On the second thought though, I will get everyone a lobster hotpot except Hyde... cause... why ruin a x'mas tradition right?

:troll:

Bought $39 worth of tickets yesterday and literally only 3 numbers matched on both tickets.

I'll still go back down for the 1.3B though

N.V.M. 01-10-2016 07:59 AM

huh? $39 for 2 tickets?

punkwax 01-10-2016 08:04 AM

Ya she put $30 on one and printed another for $9. Perhaps 10 lines is the max because it was $3 per line including extra.

So what is the percentage of tax? Doesnt CDN government tax this as income..
The jackpot is estimated at 1.3billion with 806million as cash value.. is the cash value after the US taxes?

Before taxes. US Gov takes 25% Fed tax. Then State taxes, depending on the state.

https://www.usamega.com/powerball-jackpot.asp

WA: no State tax. So you'd take $604 mil USD. ~$845 mil CAD.

Edit: that's for US Residents. Non US resident is 30% Federal withholding tax.

$564 mil USD/$790 mil CAD is what we'd take home. No canadian taxes on windfalls!

PeanutButter 01-10-2016 11:18 AM

And here I am not buying lotto max because the odds are ridiculous. 1 in 292 Million for powerball?

I'll stick to the 6/49 at 1 in 14million lol.

1 billion is nice, but not worth the time to drive down to point roberts.

Don't think it matters.
Cad doesnt see lottery as money you earned/income
Which i think is very fair.

ImportPsycho 01-10-2016 01:34 PM

Anyone going down, can pick up some extra tickets for fellow RS members?

MG1 01-10-2016 02:09 PM

Just got back. I have never in my life seen Harbor Freight so empty. Empty as in me and three employees with nobody to be seen for miles. Costco was just as deserted with only a couple dozen Canadians inside. Then I realized why.......... football game.

Glad the Seahawks pulled it off.

Anyway, bought ten bucks worth of Powerball tickets at Winco. Then went to Northwoods casino for their 50 for 50 promo. Always a good day when US greenback is at par with our monopoly money.

If a Canadian won, it would send Canadian US relations back 200 years.

El Bastardo 01-11-2016 11:50 AM

As the official Revscene ambassador to Texas, hit me up if you want me to buy you a Powerball ticket. Its as easy as me walking to the end of the block at the gas station to grab you one.

I can get your ticket, write your name on it, and text you a picture of the whole thing.

One Powerball play with the Extra is $3 USD or $4.25 CAD. I'm offering this service with no extra fees or costs. Just Paypal me the CAD and you'll have your chance to win.
