Laptop issues

I'm having some issues with my laptop, it freezes and has a little shit fit sometimes when opening a few programs or even just while VLC is running

the laptop is only a year old and the specs aren't the issue, i'm thinking that something with the hardware has gone (RAM)

it came with me when i went travelling for 8 months arount SE asia and europe so maybe something came loose or fried with the higher voltage

any tips would be great....it's an ASUS

thanks

Run CCleaner on it:
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

It'll clear out a lot of junk, like temp files and cache.

Hard drive sounds more likely to me. Run HD Sentinel to check health.

i had that before on my asus, I solved it by upgrading the bios. Check to see if your bios is updated.

If the hardware comes back okay I'd back up anything important and wipe it, then get someone to properly clean the files you've backed up before you put them back.
