Detailing Training for Employment

I'm considering part-time employment in auto detailing (I enjoy doing it, why not get paid a bit for it?). There's a detailing course offered by Automotive Training Centre in Surrey. Anyone know anything about it? Any other ideas about how to get started?

Most people get started by practicing on their own cars, family/friends etc.

I haven't seen anything positive coming out of that school. I'd stay away from that course, doubt you will learn much anyways.

You can honestly learn a lot of the basics and techniques online, then just start practicing.

Go to a bodyshop that you are familiar with and ask if they have any fenders, hoods or any other big open panels kicking around. Perfect to practice on, as you will be burning through when you first start.

most people i know started through working at a dealership. most of its very straight forward and the recovery stuff isnt too bad if you are willing to take your time

might be best to learn from a capable friend rather than a course.

Just look for a job at a dealership as a detailer. They usually don't require experience either.
