Do you guys have any recommendations for a cheap phone that will work on Wind? Not expecting much in terms of performance/features.

asian_XL 03-05-2015 05:53 PM

Xiaomi Hongmi phone will fit your requirement

nope, as a matter of fact most Chinese phones dont work on Wind as they lack UMTS1700/2100. But this will change very soon.

asian_XL 03-05-2015 06:10 PM

oh, nvm, I thought "HSDPA 900 / 2100" will work with Wind

Gululu 03-17-2015 09:28 PM

It is mind boggling how there is a no mention of newly released LeTV Le1/Le1 Pro/ Le max, that phone is the biggest bang for the buck among all smart phones.

Its a whole new game changer. Surprise to see no one even mentions it here.

Interesting... just read about it here: https://lesterchan.net/blog/2015/04/...-1-pro-le-max/

The prices sound like they'll be around USD400, so I guess it would be competing against the OnePlus crowd.

The two devices I've most recently seen being hyped are

Alcatel OneTouch's 5.5-inch Idol 3 now available for early pre-order for just $199.99

and

Mlais M52 4G LTE phone w/ 5.5" 720P HD 2GB RAM 16GB ROM - $142US - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

soooooo mi4 new promo means i have to have a bidding war with huge amount of ppl here in china, just so i can buy their mi4 at a cheap price

so i cross that off my list as i have no luck whats so ever when it comes to stuff like this.........so i bought a Meizu M

back then when the MX came out, i really wanted one............but asian XL said it horrible phone with good specs & 4 years later he still right

less then 5 days my phone died after i did a stock OS upgrade (thank god for customer service), i took back to them & they fix it for me after giving me a BS excuse

will be getting a mi4 after they stop the bidding war

How about getting a huawei honor 6 plus? I have the honor 6 and use it when I visit china. Is a pretty decent phone. But lacks LTE and 3G in Vancouver lol.

ae101 05-06-2015 10:33 PM

my Meizu seen to fine right now & it does have some unique features that i have yet been able to get working

i posted this in the xiaomi thread but this seems to be the right place as well.

does the xiaomi m4 work with windmobile? it seems that wind uses 1700/2100 but xiaomi only supports 2100 and not 1700. can anyone clarify?

If in fact the M4 only supports 2100, then the answer is no.

Almost none of the China phones are usable on Wind.

wont work at all

I recommend you the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3. Better than Mi4 actually. Idol 3 is the best underrated budget smartphone you can buy (and use on Wind).

so surprised that so few even mention the Idol 3 on here FailFish

Gululu 05-09-2015 10:03 PM

ALCATEL ONETOUCH IDOL™ 3 SMARTPHONE (Unlocked)

yameen 05-10-2015 07:27 PM

i'm getting someone to buy the huawei p8 which seems to be compatible with wind. also, if the p8 is not available since it's only released this year in april, then i'll get the huawei mate7. what do you guys think about these 2 phones?

ae101 05-13-2015 10:30 PM

gsmarea lied to me lol, i cant a sd card on to sim slot 2

yameen 05-25-2015 12:50 AM

Huawei P8 - Full phone specifications

my new phone. there's a lot of chinese bloatware that i uninstalled so hopefully it doesn't cause any os instability. but i mainly uninstalled chinese newsreader and shopping apps. phone build is great and the specs aren't bad. camera is so far so good and seems to be on par with iphone 6 in daylight at least when i compare it to my gf's iphone. all in all good phone.

Gululu 05-25-2015 08:05 PM

there is also the 5.7" Huawei Nexus later this year

ae101 05-25-2015 09:52 PM

^
the price would be cheap for that phone

W2K 05-26-2015 07:13 AM

Anyone try the ele p7000?
