my meizu note died again during stock OS update again, cant stand it & will be switching to a new phone soon

willystyle 06-10-2015 09:32 AM

^ Which Xiaomi? Does it have decent 3rd party rom support?

Mr.HappySilp 06-21-2015 07:15 PM

Just came back from China and man they have a ton of phones for $100 Canadian. Specs seems decent not sure if they are good tho. I seems Xiaomi is actually an expensive phone in China.

ae101 06-21-2015 10:32 PM

its not worth it, what u pay is what u get

What do you think of the new Ulefone Be Touch 2?

There's a flash sale going on at the moment until July 1st on GearBest every morning at 9AM for $180 USD/$220 CAD.

Specs and design looks good, much better than my Be Pro anyway.

I've been using my phone for about four months now... certainly it's not perfect, but it's been okay.

Biggest issue for me is the wonky power button. It still works, but I have to press against the back of the phone near it while pressing it. I installed an app that turns the screen off, and use a screen swipe gesture that turns the screen on, so I don't have to use the power button most of the time. I read someone else with the same problem was able to just put a dab of super glue to remount the power button properly, but I haven't bothered to try that yet.

Only other real issue is the headphone jack is finicky and a lot of plugs don't sit in it fully. I don't listen to music, so thankfully that isn't a big deal for me.

These are pretty easy to fix design issues though, so I would imagine they would have fixed them on their newer models. Overall the phone functions just great and is stable.

was gonna buy a xiaomi note, used it for 2 weeks while i was in china, only thing i didn't like about it was the touch screen sensitivity, quite horrible compared to my note 4. But everything else sized up pretty good, battery life was amazing, overall hands-on feel was nice

Didn't have time to actually buy one, think i should have

Just played around with a huawei p7... Where can I buy it?!?!

really tempted to pick up the Idol 3, despite being a few months late to the party. The reviews have been solid on this phone.

I decided to pick up one of these phones as my S4 broke and the reviews and performance of the betouch2 look good. It'll let you know in a week or two when it comes how the performance is. If you want to pick up the phone yourself, I'd suggest gearbest and google for some $20 off coupons

Bumping and double posting, sorry.

Just updating you guys that I picked up this phone today and it is amazing. The screen isnt as bright at full brightness as my brother iphone 6 plus, but they look very similar picture quality-wise. The camera isn't better than the iphone 6 as they advertised. When moving the camera around you can notice some lag, and the autoflash sensitivity is way too high. I've installed google camera in addition to the stock camera so i'll let you know how that works in a few weeks. It says 4g for my network as well, but when doing a network speed test, it was faster than my "LTE" samsung S4. It's single core performance is slightly higher than the Samsung S5, but much slower than the S6/Edge, but multicore scores are higher as per antutu.

I picked it up from an online retailer for $200 USD including a "free" glass screen protector, TPU case, and 2 year warranty. Not sure about linking websites here so if you want, you can PM me for the link.

TLDR: Don't expect current flagship performance for single core apps, but for $200 vs $700 for an unlocked S6, it's definitely worth the money.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. Ill try to answer what I can.

Nice, I was going to get that phone, but turns out that it doesn't support Wind AWS. Ended up getting a Oneplus instead.

I have been using 5.5" in the past 3 years, phones nowaday are too big which I need to wear Hip Belt Bag to carry phone, wallet, keys and sun shades.

4.7" or 5" with thin bezel is what I always want. It fits in my pants perfectly. That's why I use my LG LTE2 (4.7" and 9mm thick) when leaving town. However, battery is my main concern, Xiaomi 4i should be perfect for you.

Agree. What I hate big phones. Can't really fit into my pockets. 4.7 to 5 inch is the perfect size.

Doesn't matter how good it is. If it doesn't have LTE support for North American I won't buy it no matter how cheap it is.
