I recently bought some goodies for the GT3 from the USA and the exchange rate was painful.

what new toys did you buy for your beast?

nowhere near? RUF actually does stuff under the hood and underneath the car, not just about sticking on injection molded plastic and changing wheels...

:failed: as usual...

RUF is the only one that isn't hideously ugly to boot.

$92,059 CAD

Believe has a shady history. Over revs, Hard track usage, has damage

$67,000 CAD

$60,000 CAD Sold first week listed. I imagine price and color was prime factor.

The used specialty car market in general is retarded right now. Once the stock market drops a bit in the states prices will start to make a little more sense, then again, so will my investments. 60-65k is still the going rate for the 996 gt3s in the states still, its just a shame our money isn't worth anything because our Federal Government shit the bed once Flaherty retired.

Uhh, RUF is classified as a auto-manufacturer. They purchase white-cars from Porsche with only a chassis and interior. Nothing else is the same. Not even the doors are the same as a standard 911.

I don't think Rocket Bunny, RWB or Liberty walk, as interesting as they are, even have a single engineer on staff.

Porsche test driver Brendon Hartley tests out the GT3 RS on a test track: First camera man gets sick during the test drive on the track. :lawl:

Since the Nissan is heavier, I agree: It would cause a great deal of damage to the Porsche during an impact.

Ever think some people would just rather own a Porsche over a Nissan? Who cares whats faster when money tends to not really matter (in some cases anyways..lol). If i was rich i would rather this over a GTR any day. Nismo Shnismo!

yea GT-R is just a Nissan. Corvette Z06 is just a Chevy and Viper is just a Dodge. Ford GT is just a Ford and LFA is only a Toyota, NSX is a Honda too.

Many of those non-prestigious name brand manufactures can build cars that can smoke Porsche anytime.

AzNightmare 05-27-2015 08:42 PM

In the end of the day, people buy high end cars because they can, and they choose what they buy based on what they like. I highly doubt majority of the buyers are thinking hard about which one is the fastest on the track, nevermind the fact that they don't even have the skill to push their cars to the limit, IF, they even take it to the track in the first place.

A Porsche is just a Beetle.

Sure they do.

I'm sure people buy Bugatti Veyron just because by Guinness World Record it is the fastest car in the world.
You might think where the hell you're gonna go 400+km/h on the street, but people will still buy it for bragging rights.

If Veyron could go only as fast as Porsche 911 Turbo, it wouldn't have been so popular.

bomiheko 05-27-2015 11:23 PM

At least the Porsche GT3 RS will hold its value a lot better than a GT-R. GT-R is pretty much mass produced, everyone has one, just look at the streets. But there's so few GT3's, let alone RS.

GT-Rs are quickly approaching $60k.

Z3guy 05-28-2015 07:00 AM

^ I agree with you RS will hold their value, but to be fair, the porsche equivalent to the GTR is the Carrera S or Turbo, which depreciate rapidly. GT3RS should be compared to one of those Spec V Nismo editions (sorry, don't about GTRs).

$60K for a 5 year old GTR that cost $90K new? I would take that kind of depreciation all day long! haha? a 2012 Porsche Turbo S which cost over $200K new is approx. $120K now! that is bad depreciation!

westopher 05-28-2015 08:22 AM

And a gt3rs that cost 130k USD in 2010 now goes for 150k+! That's my kind of depreciation! I wish I could realistically say I could ever own one.

how about a 996TT. lol. god fucking damn. at least they've bottomed out..

Z3guy 05-28-2015 08:42 AM

^ I think 996 TT is by far the best value Porsche. For $45K what could you get that has the performance, reliability, and prestige of a 996TT. Call me weird, but I like the front lights on the 02+ 996s.
