Any suggestions on what he should get and where to get it in Vancouver? He has a pretty small head and wears glasses.
Cheapest full face most people recommend is HJC CL-17. DOT and Snell 2010. It's the best budget track helmet at sub $200. You will see guys doing 300+ at the track in these things.

He might want a 3/4 (Bell 500, $120) or a Dirt style helmet (AFX are pretty nice around $100) though as tropical heat is no joke and heat stroke/ dehydration is probably just as dangerous as wearing no helmet at all.

You could easily find CL-17 on CL for like 100-150 still in good condition if not new.

Thanks for all the tips guys! He ended up getting a half face ZOX helmet. He actually crashed twice (at low speeds) so the helmet definitely saved his head (although he was quite shaken/scraped up)!

There are so many amazing helmets out there these days!

I still love my circa-2013 X12 though.
