A blast from the past: Anyone remember this teacher/student sex scandal? It's been 20 years since the rape occurred. It was big news when it broke out because it happened fairly close to us in Seattle. As a kid I remember hearing about this and thinking damn this kid hit the jackpot.

She is 51 now and he is 31. They "fall in love" when he was 13 and she was 33.

Daughter is 17 or 18.

Yes, it was statutory rape at the time.

I mean, good for them that they're together and managed to stay together through more turmoil than most couples go through, but laws exist for a reason.

Personally, if I was 10... or even at my age now, and it was a fat, saggy 60-year-old lady teacher - because, in reality, a very tiny percentage of teachers look like Letorneau - trying to touch me I'd want the ERT team to intervene!

What was I doing when I was in 6th grade? Hustling other kids for their pogs and destroying people with my burn deck. Kids were getting married and having children at 13-14 in the past and still are in some places. I knew what my dick was when I was 13-14 and I knew how to use it. Maybe he manipulated the teacher? Just playing devils advocate here. Bringing the sex ie. girl-male teacher shouldn't even be an issue. If you have an issue with the age leave the gender out of it. I think its pretty obvious that this whole story is pretty fucked up, no one can deny that, but the fact that they are STILL TOGETHER with what appears to be a happy family is a whole separate matter.

He did not commit suicide, she did not become a homeless crack whore, they are a family.
