Sharp Announces 5.5" 4K IGZO

Sharp not even joking, announces 5.5-inch 4K IGZO display with mind-blowing 806ppi pixel density

not even 2 years after 2K mobile screen was first announced

Full RGB unlike the rumoured Samsung 4K OLED which is likely pentile.

It'll have huge implications for VR which currently suffers from screen door effect.

IGZO is supposedly more power efficient than TFT/IPS/OLED so I hope it'll make it to phones released Stateside/Canada.

my question is when would it be enough.

Looking at 300ppi I already find it pretty nice screen to go with. with more pixels its going to take more to drive it and it will consume more power. The power technology hasn't caught yet, its going to take a bigger battery to drive these beautiful displays.
