Vancouver Motorcycle Show - Jan 22-24, 2016

Never too early to start getting excited. :)

I'll bump this thread again in about 6 months but it's a good placeholder regardless.

After 32,000 spectators to the 2015 edition ... vendors and organizers are enthusiastic and excited about what 2016 could bring to the industry and local scene.

Although I go almost every year I honestly think you could go once every 4 or 5 years and not miss much. I usually take my son but I think we're skipping this year, maybe back in 2017.

75 days!!!

55 DAYS!!!

vexor 11-28-2015 07:22 PM

Too bad Seattle didn't happen this year

Sunfighter 11-28-2015 08:25 PM

I know! At first I thought I just missed it but realized there wasn't one at all.

Sunfighter 12-05-2015 09:58 AM

47 DAYS!!!

Why will you guys be going/not going this year?

Are you looking for any specific deals or just hot deals in general?

What deals have you found in the past?

604STIG 12-09-2015 10:17 AM

Honestly i've never found a "great" deal on much of anything at this show. I'll still attend whenever I get the chance because I still enjoy walking around and checking stuff out. The one or two times I did find something that i was into buying, was often told they are not selling anything at the show, instead visit our website, etc... certainly killed any chance of an impulse buy.

Hope to pick up a new AGV helmet (probably a Corsa) in the new year, certainly don't expect to find one at a "deal" at the show though.

double0seven 12-10-2015 12:18 AM

Oh......... I was under the impression the show has some crazy deals. Was pretty pumped to pick out some leathers.

CharlieH 12-13-2015 02:42 AM

that new bmw stunt bike looks kinda cool

Sunfighter 12-23-2015 10:50 AM

29 Days!!!

68style 01-01-2016 09:06 AM

I like to go when I can get tix for free or whatever, but definitely don't go for gear... although the shoddy Canadian dollar means there's no more deals down south anymore. Last year I fell in love with the new Ducati Scrambler bikes, but I'll never buy a new bike with all the taxes and fees... I pretty much go to take my yearly picture sitting on the S1000RR I'll never own LOL...

All I can say is the bike has aged since its debut better than I have

I agree with the poster above, I see some cool gear I'm interested in sometimes, but get the "You need to go to a store and hopefully they might stock it (re: order it in if you pay for it and hope it fits because you'll be stuck with a re-stocking fee otherwise)" speech, but that's because the biggest floorspace there for products is a supplier of lines, not a storefront... which is annoying because it's supposed to be a consumer show, not an industry trade show.

First timer

Was planning to go for the first time this year. Anyone have any recommendations what I should look out for? Or do you just walk around and check out the bikes.

LEGGGO BOYS

Last year when I went, I wanted to buy a sick backpack and also a carbon helmet. I was there the first day and was told "we brought demo models to the show but not stock, here's our card with our website on it".

Wow. And I paid to get in :(

Pretty much... just check which of the 3 days has stuff you want to see if there are any of the shows or signings you're interested in. Food is crap there so I wouldn't bother with that.

I figured as much. Ive gone to the Vancouver auto show every year with my wife and I've always enjoyed it. I'll check it out this year and see how it goes.

Show up early, like 15 minutes before doors open. The traffic coming into that place even an hour after doors open is ridiculous, will back up almost to the highway.

Sunfighter 01-04-2016 08:49 PM
