Well I just read through the last three pages of this thread. I want my five minutes back.

My current ride is a 67' Beaumont. V8, line lock, Loud pipes, etc. The same gal who called my Sti juvenile gets wet over my muscle car! Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I feel you though. We're old guys in a young man's game. Take the internet for example. Go on a hot rod site and it's all caps all day long. Not like the import sites where I can read 20 page threads on tuning one's IAT sensor.

Crazy.

Crazy.

'67 Beaumont is one sweet ride, love seeing those at US car shows, confuses the hell out of the unknowing American..."What is it, a Pontiac or a Chevy?"

You're exactly right, it is definitely a young man's game here, rarely get flamed on the muscle car and rod forums. I buy an Import to build into a track car and I find that these young import guys are a different bunch.

The majority of people here are very welcoming, however, you still have to make a good first impression.....

In my old T88 widebody Supra? Yes, often

In my old Vortech S2000? No

In my former 135i when it was new? A little

In my current 5.0 E36? Only gets thumbs up for the rumble

Or, if you actually drove something that matched your OP.
You basically sound like a douche from first impression, and you set yourself up like you drive a Reventón or something. Only to reveal you drive a car no one cares about, nor would be jealous about.

:derp:

For someone that's ~45+ years old, you're stupid if you can't figure out why everyone in here is laughing in your face.

It's ok to be proud of your own project car and all, but you really need to know the difference between a car where majority of the population will find your car "nice", and where only YOU (and maybe your own mother) will find your car "nice".

Don't be this guy: (sound clip is long)

Lol jesus fuck. I skipped page 2 and now see what you drive. I see why you tried to allude to a completely different car. It would be like me trying to imply I drive a mclaren F1 LM. Let me try this.

My car was built in the mid 90s, is full of carbon fibre, has an M power engine and is one of five.

(Its a bmw m3 in a rare colour combo with a rarer interior swapped in, with a carbon fibre dash trim piece)

This is fun....
