I had this drink once under the impression it was too wild of a concept, but it was pretty delicious.

Does it taste best with a specific type of milk? (i.e. skim / 1% / 2% / homo etc.)

Locally I'd just use 2% although i've never experimented closely to tell the difference. In Hong Kong there is a cha chan teng that uses hokkaido milk and its

Buddy, you are missing out. I'd usually just fill cup 55% to 60% of milk and top the rest with cream soda, just so its more on the creamier side. Let me know what you think

you guy's sound like noobs. i honestly always thought this was an EI thing. we call it doudhsoda (soda milk). i've always found it works the best with a thicker milk, so use 2%. try it with different brands of cream soda as well. for years, i only ever made it using crush cream soda.

i agree. it's always worked out better for me pouring the milk in first. 60% milk is the sweet spot i think.

well i tend to like things on the sweeter side so crush has always been my favorite. jones soda works quite well. the best is just to buy a few cans of cream soda's and see which combo works the best for you.

Nope. Parents have been drinking schwepps and a certain brand of milk (that i can't recall) since they were kids in Hong Kong.

I've never thought to try cream soda! I can't wait to try this.

Growing up, my Dad used to make my sister and I drinks with Coke/Milk mix, and even Root Beer/Milk.

And we're a bunch of white folk lol...not that it matters, this just seemed like such a white thing to do

Dude, you're brown? Not that it matters.

Anyway, when I was in elementary school the only brown kid in the entire school (Strathcona) made us this drink (pop and milk). It was awesome. His last name was Sodhi. We coined the drink, "Sodhi Pop." So, it's been around a long time.

If you're old enough to remember Laverne and Shirley, Pepsi and Milk is Laverne's favorite drink.

Cream Soda from scratch has been prepared with real cream for many decades if not over 100 years... it's not a HK thing or an Indian thing.

Try it with cream instead of milk, even better

So I just tried it with coke today using the same formula and its doesn't really work lol. With cream soda it blends really well (cream soda, duh!), adding layers to the milk and enhancing the flavour even more. It just makes the drink more 'complete' whereas coke it does nothing for me lol
