Selling my 1996 4Runner with 294,000 KM on it. Mechanically needs nothing, get in and drive. I did a fair bit of maintenance with the idea I'd keep it for a while but sadly that's not the case. Other than what's listed below, I don't have any other issues with the truck.
Important stuff:
- Clean title, no rebuilt status
- Fully loaded with every factory option available
- Timing belt + water pump done at 261,000 KM
- No check engine lights or other engine-related problems
- Yes, it has the factory electronic locking diff (E-Locker) and it works flawlessly. Relatively rare option
- B&M external transmission fluid cooler (P/N: 70268) installed with new lines. Great for preventing automatic transmission overheating issues
- Alpine iPod/iPhone stereo installed
Recent Maintenance (all done in the last 6 months):
- Oil changes done every 6,000 KM with 10W30 Toyota oil
- New Toyota OEM fuel filter
- New Fel-Pro valve cover gaskets
- New air filter
- New fuel cap
- New NGK spark plugs and NGK plug wires
- All fluids (front differential, transfer-case, rear differential, transmission fluid, coolant) drained and replaced with Toyota OEM fluids
- Brake fluid bleed + flush
- Goodyear Wrangler tires installed last year, re-balanced recently. Lots of tread left
- New front windshield from Speedy Glass
- Timing belt + water pump done at 261,000 KM
The Bad:
- Front driver seat bottom is pretty badly torn, I just covered it up with cloth seat covers (included with sale)
- Power radio antenna is broken. AM/FM still works great
- Passenger rear power window doesn't lower. Either needs new motor or regulator, best case scenario the contacts just need a good cleaning
- Tiny rust spot where rear windshield wiper mounts to trunk (see pics)
Asking $5000 OBO. No trades.
UPDATE:CEL came on the other day, checked it with an OBDII scanner and the code is P0446. There is likely a problem with the "VSV for EVAP" solenoid which is approximately $120 from Toyota. Worst case scenario it that needs a new charcoal canister which is around $200 on eBay. There are zero drivability problems whatsoever and fuel economy is normal. Fix it or not, it's up to you. My friend who is a tech at Southside Nissan says that there is no harm to the car in havingthis code, the only issue being is that it will not pass Aircare with a CEL but that's over and done with now. I've taken the price down by $500 to reflect this issue.
