Traveling to Vancouver - Must see and do while there

I am Traveling back to Vancouver for vacation after being away for 5 years and have absolutely no idea what to do while there. Of course things like Stanley Park or Granville Island will be on the list but I am pretty out of touch with some must visit places.

Any advice for restaurants, attractions and some tourist activities for people that have never been to Canada before?

Cheers.

+1 depends on your budget and where you want to go. I think South Korean and Japan are pretty good. Heck even Thailand and China is a better place for vacation.

I've been away from Vancouver since 2008 and if I were to go on vacation somewhere far, that wouldn't be near the top of my list... Like Tiger put it, it's probably pretty much as (we) left it. In some cases worse by the sounds of things...

Flyover Canada is the biggest waste of time and money out there. The whole thing takes like 10 minutes and you're done. DO NOT GO

i do this quite a lot with people who are form out of town
1) bike standley park. you truly know nothing if you haven't biked it and spend a good 1.5-2 hours around the whole thing and taking pictures. I challenge you to bike across lions gate (it's a fuck of a tough uphill ride for tourist).

End it with ramen you see on Robson / Denman area and sit at english bay for the rest.

2) Tap and Barrel for some drinks. BLAH BLAH BLAH about the expensive tourist food. It's what it is. Great area, decent view and a good place to see what truly vancouver has to offer. View + lifestyle and... shitty over priced apartments. enjoy the different beers on tap is key.

3) Gas town dinner. Go eat at a few places. This depends on how big your parties are. Irish Heather to Labattoir etc... if your group is legit into being adventurous.

4) Yaletown at a rooftop or at a franchise steak house area. yes i know it's gay but hey, for tourist, seeing cute girls at english bay cactus or any of those places with a hot girl serving you is not too shabby.

cheers
