I see where you're coming from, but I err slightly to the disagreeing side.

You're your dog's best friend. He wants to hang out with you, even if he's just coming along for a ride. However, there are right and wrong ways of doing things, and in this case it could have been as simple as rolling down a window.

There's a balance to be found, between when to take your dog out and when not to. On the flip side of your question, why have a dog if you're just going to leave them at home all the time?

A dog should be a part of your family, not just a living stuffed animal that you play with whenever you have time. Adult dogs can have the intelligence of a 2-3 year old human.

Most dogs only live 13-15 years, and nothing makes them happier than being with their owner. So I'd rather take my dog out more than less.

Anybody that leaves a dog/person in the car in hot weather with insufficient ventilation deserves to be stuck in the car in the same situation for an extended period of time.

If an NFL player can barely handle it for 8 minutes, and a dog overheats exponentially faster than a human... I think that speaks for itself.

also, i leave my dog in my truck all the time but only for quick trips, ie subway run or dog food run. i never roll the window down either, i turn the truck off, lock the doors and remote start it. its dope because ive got it set to run for 10 minutes and the HVAC will run on your last settings.

so he grabs a sandwich and sits outside eating while the window still rolled up.. WTF.. ROLL THE DOWN THE DAMN WINDOW and then sit down to eat your sh|t

First of all, his initial plan was to walk into sevy, buy a sandwich and a slurpee and all that will take 5 min.

He didn't think that maybe he'll run into a friend or short changed and have to go to the ATM or even anything that would prolong his 5 min trip that could have suffocated his dog.
