Fear The Walking Dead (The Walking Dead Spin-Off)(AMC)

Fear the walking dead was not good. May get better, but the characters sucked bad.

Marshall Placid 08-24-2015 01:24 AM

I thought the acting was pretty good.

The show has a high hill to climb when compared to the original series.

However, I thought this new spin-off was surprisingly good.

To me, I think most new series start off without much attachment to characters, until further on in the plot.

This new series got me hooked on the first episode.

It provided a different point of view to the Walking Dead Universe:

Spoiler!

StylinRed 08-24-2015 07:35 PM

i liked it, but the johnny depp wannabe is a bit annoying

i wonder how the subsequent episodes will hold up? hopefully it gets better or stays the same at least

and wow 1hr3mins runtime and 27mins of commercials! glad i downloaded it

i think he played the part fine...

i mean he's trying to tell everyone what he saw and no one believes him cause they think he's still on the drugs

what more can you ask? :lol

rsx 08-24-2015 09:01 PM

Liking the spin off!

RRxtar 08-24-2015 09:10 PM

I thought the son was probably the best character out of the bunch

Maybe its me but:
Overly strong alpha mom
Try hard but beta school teacher step dad
Oldest son on drugs
Hot younger daughter in highschool

seems so cliche.

And the scene where they drive out to the floodway, but stop right at the edge of the tunnel, and then instead of driving 5 feet forward and turning around, they start backing up the tunnel just pissed me off.
I think the :yuno: stuff in shows/movies is the #1 thing that ruins them for me.

I do like the concept of how 'fear' is the enemy was put forward in the previews as a big part of the series. Seems like a good concept

I liked it. Definitely better than I thought it'd be. I'm curious about the origins and I dig a change of location(L.A.). Nice to have people around instead of desolateness all the time.

Gh0stRider 08-24-2015 10:15 PM

I liked it...its a prequel to the outbreak. Not a whole lot of action, but I didn't mind the build up.

Nabatron 08-24-2015 10:52 PM

I liked it!! The first episode was a build up one for sure...but once shit starts hitting the fan things will get interesting for sure. I like it way better then the the walking dead! I like the city aspect gives it a more interesting feel that's for sure!

Gh0stRider 08-24-2015 11:26 PM

Fear The Walking Dead (The Walking Dead Spin-Off)(AMC)

Thought it'd be best to make a new thread rather than clutter up the old one seeing as how there's probably a lot of us watching the new show

nns 08-28-2015 09:25 PM

The white girl GF of the drug-addict son seen in the beginning is probably the most attractive walker I've ever seen.
:considered:

edit: to clarify, up til we saw the flesh dripping from her face

Matsuda 08-28-2015 10:55 PM

Just watched it, I thought it was a good start. The Jonny Depp looking skid son was pretty good as a sketched out scared addict I thought.

dat_steve 09-03-2015 07:25 PM

seems pretty promising!

what's weird is that in this world, apparently nobody knows the term "zombie".

quite slow the first 2 episodes, but still was enough to keep me watching the story slowly unfold, there not in some shit how "Walking Dead" was just yet....But Soon..

Nabatron 09-04-2015 08:26 AM

Yeah show starting slow but pretty much is expected...needs to build up with character developement and what not but looks like shit will hit the fan in upcoming episode! I like the show so far comparing to the walking dead since there is really no story line they are following. Since the walking dead is based off a comin book you can kind of tell what the story line would kind of be. Wish the show was an hour 30 since the season is a short one...

Exactly! This really pisses me off for some reason.

I was all like cool I can watch it later tonight because I don't have to be up at 5:00 tomorrow for work but then when I checked the guide all I seen was two middle fingers and I'm pretty sure I heard a voice say surprise motherfucker!!!

yep, mainly on green screen it seems, but i read yvr, chinatown, sfu had some shots done too, they did some cbcnews interviews on set about it but wouldn't let the media explore anything except a closed off area :suspicious:

my dad refuses to believe it, since he doesn't recognize anything, and keeps nagging me about how i'm wrong, when im just relating the news -_-
