Just watched it, and I'm liking what I see, but im a BlackBerry 10 user......

Hehe 09-19-2015 02:10 AM

I don't know what took BB so long to actually recognize Android was the shit and they should just go along.

It's the first BB phone that got my interest after all these years.

knight604 09-19-2015 03:24 AM

To be fair , Blackberry is built from the ground up geared towards security from day 1 , they are not going to turn around and distinguished what they have built all these years.

Everybody knows what kind of brand blackberry is , the most secured mobile communications enterprise.

With that said, yes maybe blackberry should have did this years before bb10 but if blackberry can not secure android , they would never even considered it.

if the price is right.. they could make a comeback... Im liking this...

According to Baka mobile, they had a limited time with it and leaking this stuff can seriously get you fired/fine or worse a lawsuit.

BTW announcement should be this week.

RRxtar 09-23-2015 04:15 PM

eagerly awating a demonstration on the hub and gestures. BB better have been able to make the hub accessible from any screen with an up-right swipe. thats the foundation of why BB10 is so great.

van_city23 09-23-2015 05:26 PM

just saw that it's to be released in november and renamed to the blackberry priv

knight604 09-23-2015 05:54 PM

They will announce something Friday because any announcements that are made before the fiscal is illegal

knight604 09-23-2015 09:01 PM

Shipping with Android 5.1.1 , no bb10 variant on the horizon.

I do have to admit it is a poo name but they never go with the internal name as the passport was named windermere.

bcrdukes 09-24-2015 01:28 PM

With no BB10 variant, I wonder how they will integrate their security platforms and whatnot?

If you compare the e-mail client on Android to Blackberry, Android is like some kind of third-world trash.

I believe the blackberry productivity suite and blackberry safeguard will be integrated into the android OS. Blackberry safeguard is just a combination of safeguards built to the OS such as Picture Password, Password Keeper, BlackBerry Protect. Not sure how they will do that, but I am sure once it is official, they will demo it.

productivity suite:

If they price this the same as the Passport, I think they will flop again...

$400 or less would be bring back BB from the dead and I would get one...

knight604 09-24-2015 04:37 PM

It won't be 400 because thats just not how blackberry is, one thing this company does not do is undervalue its hardware.

It will be running 5.1.1 android with grsecruity meaning it cannot be rooted iirc.

H.Specter 09-24-2015 05:38 PM

so $600-700?

knight604 09-24-2015 06:57 PM

Passport was 699 when it was out , i wouldn't expect anything less as it is their new flagship.
