dunno why people are crying about pokevision so much. you can compare it to aimbot for cs. of course its gonna be taken away lol. as for the bugs, its obvious there will be many, especially since they had to push the worldwide release as many were playing the apk

I would have been ok if the tracking systems works in game. First they release the 3 steps to show how far Pokemons are from you, it was bugged and cause a lot of issue for their servers. Then they update it so all Pokemons are showing at max distance. Latest updated they even remove it.
Think of it like this you are a tourist visiting Vancouver, when you ask/look at the map for suspension bridge, instead of pointing you where it is, the map only shows you 300m within the suspension bridge and you have to look for yourself. Yea kinda of crappy.
I am perfectly happy if they can show me the pokemons I want to catch within 50m to 100m radius. Their own tracking system isn't working because it cause too much server issue, then they request all other site/apps that tracks Pokemon to stop because it is sending too much request to their services causing. So instead of fixing their own servers they decided to not fix it but just outright block any tracking.
so basically a game is created where the main purpose is to walk around and encounter random pokemon, so you can catch them. instead you want everythings exact location to be shown to you, so you have to do the very minimum to succeed. whats the fucking point then? should be grateful they at least tell you whats in the vicinity

your comment leads me to believe you didn't play when their in-game tracker actually worked.
It was very rewarding to find the pokemon on your own with their in game tracker. It made the game quite fun, at least, for myself anyway
^It was for me as well. Was with a buddy at QE during the first week this game came out. It was getting late, we were tracking down a Haunter. It was 3rd on the tracker. My buddy said "I am not leaving this place until I catch this Haunter." It was then I knew shit was real. We eventually tracked it down and both caught it. That feeling though!

That's awesome hahaha.
I'll never forget my first two dragonites and 3 aerodactyls because it was purely running around trying to figure out if I was getting hotter or colder. Greatest feeling when I actually found it.
The comments I see on twitter/facebook give off the impression that majority of the people never played with the working tracker, and only know how to use pokevision.
Yup, when the tracker worked, it was great. Choose a starting direction to walk and seeing it move either closer up your list or further away and then having to adjust your direction was awesome.

so i updated to 0.31.0 and I some how have battery saver still? feels way harder to catch pokemon now. I had 3 pokemon that I just caught which were suppose to be geodude, zubat, and a 589cp gastly that turned into zubat, spearow, and golbat after being caught. WTF! didn't happen yesterday
A lot of people are posting about that happening on the pokemon go vancouver group. So far it hasn't happened to me (or anything fairly rare that I've seen yet).
Just happened to me, my hypno turned into a spearow lol

nope. i never cared about it because its actually quite dangerous with people randomly changing directions while staring down at their phone. i just caught whatever popped up when i was going places, didnt change route for it.
why did the in game tracker stop working? was this intentional?
If you think of the demand on the servers to have every single person who's playing sending a gps signal to the server. It has to ping the nearby pokemon, calculate the relative distance to you, then adjust the footprints to show how far away you are. You walk a bit and it has to do that all over again, for millions of players at a time. I can see how it would be a huge drain on the system.
I agree, Pokevision basically ruins the fun when everyone knows exactly where everything is all the time.
All the people bitching about it are just spoiled. Basically they had aimbot and now it's taken away and they are whining "omg you mean I can't just turn on a 3rd party unauthorized app, left-click and get 20 headshots in a row?? fuck this I quit"
Thing is Pokevision could have set it up where it's similar to the in-game tracking system and just give you a rough distance of where each pokemon is, within a radius.
I hope they fix the tracker soon though because I don't feel like going out to grind with zero hope of finding a rare. 2 nights ago I was at Metrotown and some people drove past us and said "Snorlax on Boundary!" ... I didn't get a chance to ask them Boundary and what because fuck that the street is so long I ain't driving up and down aimlessly lol
Leveling gets brutal after 20. Especially since all the pidgey's/weedles/etc are all high CP and constantly run away.
I've only used one lucky egg so far and I'm level 16 so I'm thinking I'm going to save the rest for the higher levels so it will be easier to level for a bit
