ILX Owners Thread

I just purchased a 2016 ILX A-Spec. Any info on mods and stuff would be much appreciated.

8 speed dual clutch tranny with torque converter and paddle shifters........ weird, but wonderful.

How you liking the car? Was considering one of these but sat in it and my 6'3 self had my head resting on the headliner with seat all the way down

Never got to drive one yet, hearing good things about the DCT. Another thing is the no tailpipes wtf acura even a single tip would be nice.

I like the car very much. I test drove the snot out of their demo to the point salesman was hanging on for dear life. I took a look at the TLX, but at 10 grand more, I was good with the ILX. I'll probably start looking for a cat back to get a more agressive exhaust tone. The ILX fits me like a glove and is quite comfortable. Someone told me it's an old man's car. Well, I am old, so it makes sense.

Really waned one of these for my mom but because it just came out at the time, the finance rates were too high compared to the accord we ended up getting her. The acura cost premium is worth it, but when adding in the much higher finance rates (we got 0.99 for 84 months) it was going to be too expensive for my budget.

I have yet to see Honda or Acura offer zero percent financing like the other car manufacturers.

The A-Spec ILX is crammed with tech features. I've had it for a few weeks now and still don't know how half the stuff works. The voice recognition doesn't recognize my voice. I'm too sexy for it, I guess. Actually, she/it sounds pretty sexy. The beeping warning thing has saved me a few times already. I'm sure these features are on most of today's cars. Just gotta keep up with the times.

Weird, the CSX was never an old man's car, but for some reason the ILX is, I saw an old white lady driving an A spec version the other day, she seemed to be enjoying herself.

Like LP700-4 mentioned, it s not for taller people. I keep hitting my head when getting in. Other than that, it is very comfortable.

Another thing I noticed during the test drive....... while using paddle shifters, I hit rev limiter before redlining it on a couple of gears. The test drive was at night, so maybe old age vision, hee hee. Now that I own one, I drive it like normal people and never push it to its limit.

Congrats on the new purchase.

Back when the base car came with the R20 engine, I had briefly considered it as well. However, compared to the Civic, I found at the time that regardless of whether it had the R20 or K24 engine, it wasn't as appealing as the Civics. Any particular reason why you choose the ILX over the current Civic Si?

I'm guessing most likely because of the 8 trannies

Graphite Lustre, and yes, because of 8 trannies.

i think youd have to wait a another good year for anything to come out for it, cause the previous model wasnt such a big hit for aftermarket products. not to mention they do not offer manual anymore for the new ilx.

visors
HIC USA 2013 TO 2015 Acura ILX Side Window Visor Vent Shades Deflectors | eBay

roof spoiler
Stancenride Rear Roof Spoiler Window Wing Fits Acura ILX 2016 ON DE1 2 3 | eBay

for exhaust just do a cat delete and slap on an aftermarket muffler
