Thats the thing, they are.
I'm not saying they are right, because I have no idea. But there are arguments on both sides from very legitimate sources.
I wouldn't have brought it up if it was some guy that studies the effects of baking soda on carpet stains or jizz at crime scenes.

Did any of the anti-cull supporters made any recommendations as to what should be done to help the caribou strengthen their numbers? I have only been following this topic somewhat loosely, but from what I've read, I don't recall anyone saying anything.

Of course not. Protesting something is easy and makes you look like you give a shit. Coming up with alternate solutions just smacks of effort.

Just because someone you (rightfully so) believe is stupid has an opinion about something, doesn't necessarily mean they are wrong about it.
There are a lot of arguments for both sides. I believe the real reason the caribou are in such low numbers though is because humans have destroyed their habitat.

I actually don't have much of an opinion on the matter. This is very, very far down on my list of things to care about.

Why don't we send the wolves to that village in China that has the dog eating festival?

At least it would make it a little more fair for both of the parties involved.

Why dont we make a large pen and put a bunch of Caribou in there... feed them GMO crops and after a few generations we'll have super Caribou with large horns. Then only the best breed of wolves will survive and keep evolution in place.

Nah I have a better idea! Bring that village up North and let them loose on the wolves! Whoever survives gets Canadian citizenship and a wolf pelt! And a condo Downtown!

Just what we need...more people from China driving up housing costs.
