Long story?

So far it's a broken story through out the whole thread...

Corrollas get really high salvage value because they are reliable vehicles and rebuilders can easily fix them and turn them around for a profit. Which makes they easier for a total loss

For crash safety, modern cars are made to absorb the energy of a collision. While absorbing, the energy has to go somewhere; therefore, parts break apart to mitigate the force.

This is why:

5 years and it's worth $12k still? that's pretty good in terms of depreciation.

You weren't injured because it took that much damage, it's designed to take the hit so the sacks of meat inside it don't get hurt as badly.

OP, did you tell the adjusters the wipers still work at least?

dat_steve 10-29-2015 11:57 AM

OP, did you remind the adjusters it's an S model?

Hot Karl 10-29-2015 01:15 PM

all jokes aside, the OP is so fundamentally ignorant in this situation it's blowing my mind.

this is what a 13 year old girl would think about car ownership and dealing with a write off.

i feel like you shouldn't be allowed to drive at all because of this.

Let me put this into perspective. These are just the cospetic parts, the ones you can see from this photo. You are missing many clips, screws, and other small items. Not to mention, it will likely need new suspension components with a hit like that.

So your looking at $4954 in easily to spot and quote parts on a 10k car. Its dead.

you know....this is not twitter, you can write the entire thing in 1 post instead of making a post of each and every sentence...
