Recommendation for painting/sandblasting rims

I have seen rims that were finished in custom colors in pictures and at the revscene meets.

Where do u guys recommend for doing this for a decent price? I am looking for a clear coated gloss finish in purple.

Thanks.

Team eggplant? lol

What condition are the rims now? Sandblasting might be overkill if they just need spot repairs and paint.

I usually get them sandblasted at OS Airstrip, then drop off for powdercoating at Dynapro.

Usually $20-30/ wheel for sandblasting
then about $100-150ish/ wheel powdercoating depending on time/color

Yup, really depends if you want PAINT or POWDERCOAT.

Paint will run you typically 700+.
Sandblasting & Powdercoat depends on who you use for the powder. Dependant on if they are doing the same color, or if they have it on hand, it's cheaper. You'll need to call around and see what's the best price you can get for purple gloss as it'll depend solely on the shop.

Spoiler!

Yup, Airstrip in Richmond on Bridgeport is good for stripping/prepping the wheels. Many different blast materials to choose from. Dynapro or Quality Powdercoating(both in Richmond) are good choices. I switched to Quality because they are closer to me(near Autowest BMW). He did all 4 skid plates for my 4Runner for $100 cash. They look spectacular.

You can order from here if you want something crazy: http://www.prismaticpowders.com/powder-coating-colors/

Greens. Buddy of mine had his HRE's blasted and re-finished by them. Looked really good.

One of my wheels was actually put back together by Greens, and it balanced really nicely, and I havn't had any leaks or problems with it since.

I called green's and their quote was ridiculous. I mean, more than a brand new set of BBS wheels.

Prices that cman333 was talking about sound about the cheapest I'd expect

Another one to try is Rainbow powdercoating. Haven't been there personally though.

Rainbow is relatively cheap IF you bring him the wheels already prepped (i.e. sandblasted and clean ready for powder coating)
