You think so? I dunno if I am far too jaded or what, but I would expect no more than 10% of these freebie customers to return when the car wash place goes back to their regular pricing...

I agree. It's like Groupon, the % of people going back without any kind of discount is really low.

I think they would be happy with 10% if you look at the numbers vs the cost. I'm just speculating though, I don't have any inside info or anything.

whitev70r 11-10-2015 10:35 PM

Tonight would be a good time to go get that freebie wash. No wait, I'm pretty sure.

jinxcrusader 11-10-2015 11:35 PM

Partially to get their name and new location known. Not many people go by Rumbl

dyan 11-10-2015 11:40 PM

Tried to go yesterday at 10ish since I was in the area, but lineup was out to the street so I drove off. Came back at 12:30-45 and it was closed for maintenance :okay:

ilovebacon 11-11-2015 12:19 AM

i wonder if its ready right now

j.f0ng 11-11-2015 12:57 AM

Went today at around 2:45pm. There was a bit of a line up but it wasn't too bad. Was out of there by 3pm. A few suds spots lingered around the car, but I'm not complaining for something that was free. Also it started pissing rain on the drive back to Richmond, so that took care of the suds.

Gh0stRider 11-11-2015 05:40 PM

drove by at 545pm, lineup snakes out to Gilley lol. Not like i'd ever go through it.

nsx042003 11-11-2015 09:45 PM

I think it's not too bad, just went through with my work van, does a pretty good job at making the van clean and shine

argh, went to shine autowash today, ended up pushing the car in front of me with my car... or i was reallllllly close to his bumper. watch video

pay attention at 2:22, ull see the roller go under the acura in front of me and jack the car up, at that point he hits the brakes and then continues to roll forward. u can also see at this point my cars really close to his car. fast forward to 3:10 and u can see the line stops, u can see the acura then tries and drives off, going over 2 bumps, meaning the rollers were not pushing his rear wheels unlike at the beginning of the video.

at the end of the video u can see the acura and the car in front of him get out and check the car out so the acura hit the fiat in front.

checked my car and dont see any damages, my guess is i was just really close to his while the rollers were pushing the acuras front wheels near the end

This also happened to me tonight, along with at least 7 other cars. Some idiot in front braked, and caused everyone to back into each other. My front and rear bumper got damaged.

All of us left our numbers with them, and were told that we'll recieve a call the next day.

I have clear dashcam footage front and back of the pileup, so I guess i'll just wait to see what they say.

The attendants were putting cars through way too close, would not recomend going when it's completely packed, unless you want to get sandwiched between two cars.

What do you use to make the water bead so nicely on your windshield?

Did they call?

Went again today and my plate was completely fucked coming out. Guy didnt turn it vertical this time and it came out with a 90 degree angle on the left side of plate before rho plate. Tow hook plate people beware. Broke my plate frame too :alone:

Is it really a powerful wash? I've got rain guards on my car, will it get destroyed? Lol

SumAznGuy 11-14-2015 06:52 AM

Rain guards should be ok.
Front plates are different as they have an edge and the spinning rollers may catch that edge.
The rollers stand up and down, if that makes any sense.

Last night, the second car in front of me, the idiot kept their hands on the steering wheel and kept stepping on the brakes when they were in the machine.
The attendant kept yelling "hands off the wheel".
He must have said it 20 times and they didn't listen so he turned the machine off.

subordinate 11-14-2015 09:31 AM

I wouldnt even put a pos car in there... for the potential headache of an accident to deal with.

I'm cheap but too much grief for a free wash.

SrPcAo 11-14-2015 11:57 AM

I did not recieve a call from them, and when I tried to call, I got no answer.

I filed my claim through icbc and encourage anyone else in the same situation to do the same.

It's clear this has happened many times already, and regardless if it's free or not, they are still running a business and should claim responsibility for accidents.

JSALES 11-14-2015 12:29 PM

So how does this car wash work? You go in and your vehicle is put on rollers while left in neutral?

So basically the person in the front would be the one getting in shit for causing the whole thing to happen.

It would be interesting to see who's at fault.

Even if the guy did brake, one could argue that cars were being put through too tighly, as you can see in the video posted. Just another half a car length would have most likely prevented contact.
I did go a couple days earlier with the daily and had no problems. That day they gave at least 2 car lengths in between cars, with different attendants working.

I've gone through the car wash about 3 to 4 times now, and during those times it was bumper to bumper with no problems.

The attendants always emphasized no stepping on the brake pedal, hands off steering wheel, and transmission in neutral.

Just a matter of how ICBC is going to see it.....

Crap.. Went through this today and they skipped the soap on me. #SwirlCity!
