I bought the Atom LT last year. My goto jacket for most of Vancouver's weather. Around the 5-12 C range. It looks nice, and layers well as well. I have the SL, for those early summer/spring mornings hikes/runs. So far, these are great purchases.

Looking for the Cerium LT as the Atom LT is not really good for anything lower than 5 C. I tried it in the store, but was pretty much hot in a couple minutes.

Anyone could hook me up with a deal on this?

Looking for suggestions for a nice warm and waterproof jacket to get for my mother. Warmth is the more important feature.

Canada Goose.

In other news, FML I am so pissed off. Brushed up against a dirty/greasy fence taking a shortcut to work and this stain happened. I've only had this jacket for a few weeks.

Water + cloth isn't doing anything. May try Nikwax Tech Wash next but I don't want to wash my jacket just yet because I'm scared of screwing up the DWR.

the lightest dab of isopropyl will take care of that if you run out of options

and you know that DWR is re-applicable right?

Yes but I thought it's saying that factory DWR is better than any of the wash-in or spray-on ones.

Just feels bad man.

Yeah, I would tape around the area that needs to be cleaned. That way you know where to reapply DWR, and spot clean with detergent.

Reapply DWR with the application spray and a hair dryer.

I haven't owned one but I've seen a number of people wearing EB lately and for the price I think it's a totally underrated option

It's discounted at the mills since it's an outlet. Best investment i've made. Almost feels like one of my arcteryx jackets.

I have one. Perfect for our rainy days. Lightweight, breathable, and very versatile.

Would you say its good for boarding as well? With a mid layer underneath of course.

I don't snowboard, so not too sure. With proper layering, it should be good.

for boarding i like jackets with a powder skirt. of course it'll work fine but if it's primarily for boarding i don't think it's the best choice. $500 is cheap for arc'teryx but you can find a more fully featured jacket from another brand for that price.

just got an ames jacket. i had a sidewinter sv from like 8 years ago that started to delaminate so they gave me credit. figured since i rarely if ever board anymore, a city jacket would be a good choice. happy with it.

Here's an Arc'teryx Sabre jacket for $489 (less than Beta SL price) which is skiing/boarding optimized including powder skirt. Still good around town too.

Black diamond makes nice jackets. Really good warranty too. I bought a shell for snowboarding in 2014 and this season the dwr was gone. I contacted their warranty department and they credited me 350 usd e-gift card to use on their website. I'll probably be using it to get the mission shell at the end of the season.

Got MEN'S THERMOBALL SNOW TRICLIMATE to replace my North Face Alpen Blitz Triclimate. Nothing wrong Alpen Blitz Triclimate still good just give it to my dad since he complains his current jacket's pocket isn't deep enough.

Was thinking MEN'S MOUNTAIN LIGHT TRICLIMATE JACKET but some people complains is not as warm. Also the Thermoball snow Triclimate looks nicer and sharper.

My CG kept me nice and toasty walking the pups out on the lakes at -40. Glad I got the bomber jacket and not the full length expedition ones.

Recently discovered Arcteryx Veilance. Got the Mionn IS and Node down jacket and love them. I especially like that there's no logos or anything flashy - just simple, clean and very functional.

It's more of an impulse than any practical reason to buy it. I asked myself like 100x before clicking the "submit" button. I mean... for that price, it better be made of Tauntaun skin or sth.

Just felt that it's one of those things that I won't pay the stupid markup scalpers are charging on fleebay but I'd always wish I had it. So I just said... fuck it...
