Hopefully VW x Rivian collab means that Rivian will get good driver assist.
The current ones really suck.
They just in the last few months switched from using the Mobileye system to their own in house system. They had put both sets of hardware (including different cameras!!) on all their vehicles because they weren't ready with their software til now lol.
The Rivian forum guys say it's already way better. They'll keep working on it.

the 2.5 is very ancient, but that means dead reliable if they had like 2 decades to figure it out? i dunno ford doesnt have the best long term support
edit: gat damn plastic VC and valve adj required
Ford's been using the Toyota hybrid system since 2005.
No real issues here nor with the Maverick.
Paris Taxi drivers use Fusion hybrid interchangeably with Corolla/Camry.
68style wdu know about the Fusion hybrids in police fleet?

We never had any, the last Fusions we had were the Gillette grille V6’s, stopped buying them when the Aston Martin front end came out/never actually saw them come up as a possibility for RCMP orders.
I didn’t do marked cars though, only undercover stuff and half my fleet was leases so we chose what we wanted, not buying tendered shit.
apparently hybrid tech is a design fomoco licensed from toyota with the 2 e-motors made by Toshiba
The Mazda MZR L series engine is really co-developed with Ford back in the day when they still had the partnership. Ford has been building those engines as Duratec for well over 20 years, I think. Of course new stuff gets added to it, but it is a very common engine among Ford vehicles.

You da narc that ordered the ghost toyota sienna with the N sticker? Or the honda ridgeline?

I was in charge of undercovers for a Fed section, so no municipal stuff and no traffic stops unless they saw like a drunk driver or whatever and there's a requirement to protect the public. Seinna/Highlander/Camry were all available on tender in the mid 2010's though when I was still there so it would be easy for any muni to have those.
We got Pilot, Accord, Highlander, and a Q50 from that other video
Those were all my vehicles... funny story with this, when it happened, the racism blew up like CRAZY online, those vehicles are all tinted and none of the drivers as far as I remember were even asian, but everywhere you looked online people were losing their mind Chinese this Chinese that and the in charge was refusing to address it because he didn't want to blow the cars... I said this thing is going in a real bad way, showed him the online response and said come on these cars are blown already just eat it and do the right thing... got them to contact the media to say yah that was police and hopefully curb some of the nonsense that was spreading.
I left there in 2017 so that was past my time... and this appears to be VPD so I doubt it was my old section. I did get IS sometimes though, the super high residuals made the lease rates attractive.

Those undercover cars, do you guys not modify them for police duty? And wouldn't the modifications make it not returnable? I was pulled over by an undercover Altima 3.5 in Richmond once in our Mini Cooper. That was interesting.
Altima 3.5's were a mainstay of unmarked sedan fleet, there were tonnes of them around... even some 2.5 and 2.5 Hybrid for higher ups. I actually really liked those prior to 2009(?) when they turned into CVT droning Buicks.
They all had to have, at a minimum: radio, lighting, siren, lock box
We hid the lighting, there was lots you could do with newer LED's some manufacturers make stuff that act as turn signals or fog lights but can also flash red/blue when needed... hiding things behind tint, etc... everything was done as discreetly as possible, also needed to disable DRL... although that was getting really hard with all the LED headlights coming out when I left.
They all get returned to the dealer(s) after 3 years (sometimes 4) and going through equipment removal + reconditioning for paint, but good fucking luck whoever bought those cars after finding random holes in places with no explanation and probably being beat on for 3-4 years.
I've always wondered how rimac had money to buy Bugatti when no one buys their $3m car. Aren't they just a start up company. But then a $300k peasant car can beat it.

The more precise way to describe the situation was Rimac got bought by Porsche (at least a very big % of it), and VW just kinda merged them together as their nature are similar (both in Hyper car sector).
