charging cable recommendations

I'm looking for:

1) 2.4 AMP SUPPORT
2) 10 FOOT
3) BRAIDED
4) CHEAP

(priority in that order)
lighting and micro USB charging cables.

anyone got any recommendations? reason being i bought a fast charger recently, and none of my cables support fast charging (they're all ULTRA cheap china cables lol).

i know anker has some that meet specifications but im trying to find cheaper if possible.

I cannot find any 10 foot LIGHTING cables that are also 2.4 amps... the longest i've found is 6 foot.

amazonbasics seems to have some that i would settle on... (they're not braided), but i cannot confirm if they are 2.4 amps...

Local if possible, but if not I'll order online and wait.

I don't see why you'd need special cables for a 2.4 amp charger

i see you've never used super shitty cables lol.

not special cables, better cables.

shitty cables don't charge fast and some even charge SUPER slow.

and if you add an adapter of any kind, they don't charge at all (say u add a lightning adapter to a microusb, some cables will slowly drain).

my other option is to get this:
http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters%...QJG23K9NCJ385H

and then attach a short cable to the end... not sure if that would work full speed though.

Best and most durable micro USB cable I've ever used.

Any 1FT 20/24AWG cable will be fine although most up to 3FT will do the job too.

Longer cables are less efficient and will take longer to charge. Never use extensions.

Most cheap China cables can barely push 1A.

i've been using the blackberry cable that came with my playbook. Best cable i've used for charging devices using a fast charger. Has never failed me yet. I'm guess any of the cables from blackberry devices will work.

Exactly, with all modern mobile devices pushing at least 2A. The newer mobile phones like the Nexus line pushing 3A. It's pointless buying generic cables as like you've said, can barely push 1A. Save yourself the money and time and get a brand name cable.

I don't see how that's physically possible... If a cable is faulty, it may not work right. But a cheap cable supplying the same connection should work just as well as any expensive one

I don't think cables can be limited to how much they can "push" unless it's enough to cause it to melt

Most cheap cables (by cheap, I mean generic branded cables off of eBay, dx, aliexpress, etc.) are built with crap components, that was never intended to live up to its claim. Since the material is crap, it can never provide the right charge. if the right charge cannot be achieved, it can affect the battery life of your phone both in short and long-term. In the short-term, it will take forever to charge your phone from zero to full. In the long-term, cheap cables simply don't last as long as branded cables. A good branded cable can last two year or more with daily use. A cheaply-made cable can cause reduced-charging over time, as short as few weeks after purchasing, due to torn electrical wiring made with hundreds of tiny metal strands inside the plastic casing that breaks easily with cheap cables. In a worst case scenario, it can cause overcharging which then cause overheating - blowing up your phone and possibly you.

In the end, you need to ask yourself if you really want to charge your $800 phone with a $1 cable.

My point is that no cable is going to make your phone charge faster. It either works or it doesn't. I agree on durability

Thickness of the cables determines the rate of charge.

Assuming both cables are inserted in the same 2Amp-capable USB port.

A cheap generic cable (mostly 28/28AWG) can rarely charge faster than 500mah. A thicker 28/24AWG branded cable can charge up to 2A.

So no, I disagree with you that all charging cables are created equal.

Cables Can Significantly Impact the Charging Speed of Your USB Devices

If you ever come across them on sale at local stores, the best USB cables for charging from my personal experience are Blackberry and Nokia. They charge fast and are very durable. I recall seeing some at London Drugs for $4.99 in the sale bin.

Trust me, quality cables will charge phones faster.

Pair a generic cable with any phone that supports Quick Charge and I bet 100% of the time the notification for fast charging won't pop up.
