Stolen Cats, $2000 reward

Not the meow type doe..

Looking for info in an attempt to locate our equipment that was stolen form our project located on 60 th st and 148 ave in Surrey.

The Theft happened between 4Pm Thursday Dec 10 and 7 am Friday Dec 11. Both machines were fairly New with more detail bellow:

Excavator -2013-305.5e
Serial# fky01308
Vin# cat3055ecfky01308
Hours:1312, clean out bucket installed, missing rear decal and one bucket tooth.

Skid Steer -2013-289c2
Serial# chrtd01896
Vin# cat0289chrtd01896
Hours: 946, bucket installed

Below are pictures but not of the exact machines our skid steer did not have a rear decal.

We are offering a $2000.00 reward for the lead to the return of these machines. Thanks for anything you can contribute.

Odds are when these machines were transported it was either with two flat deck trailers, one large "low-bed" trailer. Or one flat deck with the machines very hastily loaded on, it would look awkward as the arm of the excavator would have to be over top of the skid steer or some configuration like that.

LOL. I was pretty sure you weren't looking for a meow type but your first line was hillarious.

Good luck with the search.

I read the title and was thinking wow that's a great reward for some missing meows lol

Verdasco 12-14-2015 11:11 AM

wow stealing those machines must be well thought out by the criminals..... wowzors!

Zero security when leaving the site??

ScizzMoney 12-14-2015 11:13 AM

Hopefully you guys get them back but I wouldn't be an optometrist about it. :(

Company I was working for had some stolen and only got them back because the transportation manager we had went to try and buy some used ones and the guy selling the ones he was looking at had the ones that were stolen from our company, was something fit for judge judy.

I'll keep my ears peeled for people trying to unload those types of meows.

SumAznGuy 12-14-2015 11:15 AM

Would people try to sell these on CL?

Only crackheads would try to sell them on CL.

Not sure about CAT but I remember our Bobcat excavator and skidsteers required VIN's to buy parts. Should probably give the CAT stores a heads up, just in case.

It's also possible they hauled them away inside demo bins. Units that small fit quite easily and the only thing you'd see from the ground is the boom arm.

I suspect they were taken by someone on site or from a neighboring property. It's not hard to tell what security measures there are when you see them everyday.

Good luck.

$2000 seems kind of low for the type of items that were stolen, no?

Hondaracer 12-14-2015 11:46 AM

^ it's a trade off in terms of reward, as after 30 days insurance will pay for new machines. However the increase in premiums will be going up a decent chunk, not enough however to offer 5-10k as a reward.

The site in question has neighboring properties all around and surveillance, however the cameras in question were not operational at the time. The site literally has hundreds of people living around it and is probably amongst the safest sites we've been on, so it's ironic that it happens here lol.

And yea, whoever stole them probably knew what they were doing and had a buyer or storage available, buyer such as a farmer or somewhere you will never see the machines operating.

Also the skid steer has quite a complicated startup sequence for someone who has not run this specific model before, so again, these guys knew what they were doing

I would imagine stolen equipment like that would be headed out of province/country/overseas gl

ps thought it was cats too and was like 'must be a lot of them'

EuterVanWasser 12-15-2015 06:27 PM

Nah.. Imo, Hondaracer is right.. more likely destined for a farmer/rancher who has some buddies who will lift the machinery for a few G's under the table.

My family member bought a fully loaded Rhino for his farm 2 or 3 years ago... it was stolen out of his barn and the cops said they located it on another farm in a neighboring town but given it was in a Hutterite community that they didn't have strong ties with, they weren't going in to get it because it wasn't worth the risk.

My guess is this stuff is in the back of a truck and on its way to the Kootenays / Caribou, etc.

We had a bunch of equipment stolen from our yard in Port Kells the exact same night... They took a crew cab For 7.3 flat deck truck, a skid steer, flat deck trailer, generators, and some other stuff.

White truck. They took a trailer as well and put the skid steer on it, unless they stole the truck and trailer and did a couple "runs" to other businesses... Truck also had a big plate steel front bumper.

Interesting.

A woman in the neighboring townhouses emailed us saying a "white truck" was parked at the site around 6pm, shortly after we left.

However, other than being white she couldn't even tell us if it was a flat deck, trailer, etc.

Wouldn't doubt the same truck

this country has reached a new low. 20 more years and the middle class will be completely wiped out. i can't wait to see the result. canada is falling poor so rapidly. your education system is a failure and so is your political correctness (fake democratic government) and multiculturalism will make your country destroyed. you brought this on yourself.
