you could see Nico was moving right, right after the turn, Ham just wanted to try and jump ahead of it regardless and miscalculated his space

So he shouldn't have gone for that gap when he had a MASSIVE speed advantage due to a mistake Rosberg made?

I think Ros should have left racing room.

I would just like to say.

Fuck you TSN2

Looking at all the circumstances, I agree with the FIA that racing incident is the right call.

Rosberg had the right to defend, Hamilton had a "little bit" of his car beside Rosberg but not enough that would say he effectively "took the space".

It was the unexpected difference in Hamilton's closing speed that made all the difference. Both guys made some mis-judgements within milliseconds.

If the FIA laid blame squarely on only one of those two guys, it would ruin all "Racing" from here on out.

As a result of this incident, Nico has two things going for him: A) Hamilton has one less race to make up his points deficit and B) Hamilton now knows that Nico isn't going to be so willing to just "move aside" for him next time he's trying to pass

Agreed that it was a racing incident and that FIA made the right call not to reprimand either driver.

Seeing a lot of people on Facebook blame Nico for "pushing" Hamilton onto the grass.

If he didn't push him out people would be criticizing him for not driving aggressive enough.

I try to avoid Facebook comments post-race, too many idiots out there. Mercedes F1 FB page is especially bad with idiots.

StylinRed 06-12-2016 09:24 AM

Been an entertaining season so far!

Don't we have members over at the Montreal race this year? Where's the live play by play and pics guys?!

Speed2K 06-12-2016 01:18 PM

That was a pretty good race. If Vettel had been able to close the gap (or if his team hadn't had made the wrong call) it would have been much more fun to watch. I loved watching Verstappen close the door on Nico, over those last few laps.

If you didn't watch it, in the Sky Sports post-race interviews, Vettel crashes Hamilton's interview and kept on rambling about the two seagulls (which he had mentioned in the pre-podium briefing room after the race), which no-one else saw. Sky said they couldn't find any footage of said birds. Vettel said he'll wait until they find the footage. :lol They finally found it, turn 1, right before the virtual safety car. :awwyeah:

there was no gap, the gap was only there the moment he saw it, but it disappeared before he acted, not sure if i mentioned it here, but he would have had to have been going light speed to make that gap, he should have gone on the outside or been a bit more reasoned and tactical, cuz there was no way he would've made it

(sorry didnt see that msg earlier, havent been here much)

Not really racist! 06-16-2016 11:07 PM

I love Seb

so Hamilton gets a new set of tyres for the start of the race, because he flat spotted his Q2 tyres, they were deemed 'unsafe' lol what a load of bull

Hamilton gets replacement set of tyres for race

Vancouver240sx 06-19-2016 11:11 AM

They were not a new set, the replacement set had identical mileage on them.

I thought that was actually an enjoyable track given how boring the race was. The long straight reminded me of the days when cars would attempt to overtake going into turn 1 at Indianapolis. Too bad the race results were predictable the moment qualifying ended.

snowball 06-19-2016 06:45 PM

I follow F1 every weekend except this weekend because of LeMans.

...speaking of more exciting race news *spoiler* Porsche takes the LMP1 victory when the leading Toyota breaks down with 3 minutes left :ahwow:

StylinRed 06-19-2016 08:28 PM

so choked for Toyota, heard about it from the f1 commentators :/

equal mileage  ham should have had to have pitted right after 1 lap if they didnt like the flat spot, or start from the pits

baku wasn't bad, but the race was boring AF

Eff-1 06-21-2016 10:07 AM

1.29 sec. Damn.

StylinRed 07-03-2016 07:21 AM

WOW exciting race!

Rosberg tried to pull a Ham and run Ham wide by taking that turn deep, but Ham turned into him and foiled Rosbergs plans

Ros should have just settled for 2nd there, even with a DNF he's still ahead of Hamilton in points, so it was stupid to risk it all

but omg i hate this biased sky commentary

Speed2K 07-03-2016 11:29 AM

It was a good race. Glad to see Verstappen on the podium again. I'm glad Button was able to hold off the rest of the field...for the first few laps. It was a good finish for him though. Shitty ending for Vettel. As for Rosberg, yeah, he only has himself to blame; despite him blaming Hamilton. :whine::Pbjt:

maxx 07-03-2016 02:54 PM

ROSBERG CANT FUCKING DRIVE. when will they kick him off the team???

Not really racist! 07-03-2016 04:02 PM

Damn what a sick race just watched my recording

snowball 07-03-2016 09:56 PM

Rosberg was indeed wrong this time.

Last time was the same situation except they were in each other's shoes. Rosberg should've hit Lewis from the outside (to make a statement) just as Lewis did this time.

HonestTea 07-03-2016 10:11 PM

Even without rain, this was surprisingly a good race

Glad to see Rosberg being more aggressive but wrong move at the wrong time, bring on the drama!

HonestTea 07-04-2016 12:02 AM

VETTEL :bowrofl: :bowrofl:
