Had some pretty good ones at Aotoya on Victoria & 49th recently. As a matter of fact, I love the food there, but they are very much a family shop -- ie. the place isn't that big, and the food prep could take a while. But the product that comes out is very, very good. The old chef really takes his cooking very seriously, and I've never had grilled fish that good before.

Just a heads up. Was at Vansoba the other week and the soba chef had gone back to Japan. So...no more soba
