Anywhere I can get a good milk tea that is near Ontario and Broadway? |

Yes and within a couple of blocks preferably. Need to still be able to walk back to work within a reasonable time. |
icafe? pricey but the food itself isn't too bad. it's not great by any means though. edit: sorry, i thought ontario was closer to the "tree" streets lol it's probably a 10-15min walk from ontario. |
Not within walking distance. But if you have the time for lunch etc, then Gloucester or Copa on Cambie. |
Gloucester is horrible imo. Since their glory days pre skytrain line which fucked them hard they have yet to be anywhere close to their past, not even close. I though I would give them another shot the other day b/c I figure how bad can it be if I order regular shit. Got the typical 3 meats on a grill deal and I actually only ate half, packed the rest but ended up chucking it in the end it was that bad. Every single thing was bland as fuck. TOS'd - Congee Noodle house down the street has the HK Style milk tea. Sometimes it's decent, sometimes it sucks but beggers can't be choosers I guess. |
Damn, thanks guys. Congee is definitely within the radius, my options are extremely limited for now. |

ya i used to go there once a week on weekends and then they 'updated' their menu and saw myself going once every few weeks and then once every few months. waitresses there still recognize us when we go though. the bakery stuff isn't too bad either so their breakfast bun is pretty good. just watch out for their back hallway floor. very slippery due to grease. you'll almost kill yourself when you try to go take a piss :lol |
Shining Garden opened up back in 2014, it used to be a dimsum place before and the dimsum there was decent. Shining garden does have a good lunch time / after school menu. I loved their wonton and egg noodles there. their chicken wings are pretty good too. |

yep. new orange paint on the walls within the last 10 years but everything else (furniture) is the same. |
Anyone remember kam do HK cafe? They only sell bakery now, but before on their no.3 road location i always used to go there to get my fix. Portions were HUGE and was cheap as hell. Don't know why they closed the restaurant. They still sell killer wife cakes, even though i dont like them too much |

@Glow, can you clarify what you meant by 'updated' menu? Are the price still the same as their website? $7.25 for a baked items (or pretty much their whole menu) w/ a drink during non-lunch / after 9pm hours is quite a steal! |
How does the current price compared to 2011 Kam?s Bakery on Main and East 8th Ave, Vancouver | and 2014 Vanbrosia: Kam's Bakery & Restaurant / ?????? Still same as Aug 2014? Or $10 bucks now? $10.50 for their lunch "special" doesn't look that attractive anymore  |

I went to Kam's Bakery for lunch today. $7.25 for Toast/Bacon/2 eggs/Ham with macaroni soup/hot milk tea. Was decent and I don't mind going back. The older asian waitress is really nice as mentioned above. |
Does Shinning Garden have after 9pm specials? |
Kam Do was probably the best that I've ever been to. Too bad it didn't open late. Grilled Sirloin Steak with garlic bread and soup and a large drink for 9 bucks , I think. fuaaa |
Theres a new one that opened on king edward and oak in the safeway plaza, has anyone been? |

Prices are quite expensive for what you get, food was average. Ordered baked porkchop on rice which was $13-15, no drink. Most entrees are in the $13-15 price range, the dinner entrees are around $23-25. They have a few lunch specials around $13-15 with drink. I went with a co-worker and we waited about 15mins to get seated since it was lunch time. When we saw the menu we were like WTF? Should we leave? If the food was 1/2 the price, then I'd say it would be acceptable. I guess rent here is expensive since the Pho place near by is $2-3 more expensive per entree than your typical Pho place. |
I tried "Enjoy Cafe" (the old eCanteen) the other day. Ordered a noodle dish. It was okay, but too saucy. The milk tea tasted off. I can't quite explain it. Service was alright and it wasn't too busy. Prices are reasonable. Can't say I could recommend it, though. |
Does anyone have $900k you can gift me? In exchange for the $$$, I'll promise you AYCE pineapple buns, egg tarts, and HK milk tea for the next 10 years: Richmond Business with Assets for sale: (Listed 2017-07-25) |
