I can't seem to get the YVR to FCO under $795, even using all the sample dates.

that's the problem with these flight deals, no idea how long it would last

for San Fran, more months added to deal now, just that some are not nonstop flights

There's a cheap business class fare on AA for YVR-PTY if someone's looking for MR with some comfort.

I was able to priced out YVR-LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY round trip for around U$650.

It earns 17k+ on EQM on AA or 3.8cpm(I think with the promo of 3k miles bonus, this trip yields over 23k in RDM). A very good deal if anyone is looking to do AA platinum challenge. One trip, and instant platinum/OneWorld Sapphire.

Download Skiplagged. You can find some good deal if you aren't checking luggage in.

So far I'm seeing sub 200USD one-way for Aug.

Here's a trick. Enter in Google Flights multi-city YVR-YYZ-LAX on the same day.

Get off at YYZ. ;)

OMGWTFBBQ HAX!

But that's one way. Using the same method for return trip pretty much evens out the pricing to regular fares.

When you look for these hidden city deals, how did you come up with LAX?
If my ultimate destination was YYZ, most I would have looked for is maybe connecting to YUL, YHZ, etc. I would never have thought of backtracking a city back to LAX..

But since OP need a return flight, I guess there isn't really much savings to have at the end.

It's a trick I picked up elsewhere at Flyertalk... I needed a YVR-LAX flight and this combo popped up one time and made me go "Huh."

Yeah, it is variable - great for positioning to YYZ, not so good coming back, though I've found a few days before (not during OP's trip) that were in the $200-250 range.

You win some you lose some. If OP had some Aeroplan this could get him there one way and he could use AP to get back.

krazynuck 07-04-2016 04:26 PM

I have done this before for my sister. I booked YVR - YYZ - Kelowna.

It was $125 and she just got off in Toronto...pretty sure the airlines hate this though

Ch28 07-04-2016 05:20 PM

You'd have to make sure you don't have checked in luggage tho.
