| Best priced Orthodontist in the mainland?
Hey guys my current ortho wants to charge me 8k for 24 months of braces which is fine since I really need it but I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with any other good orthos that are better priced?
thanks

User name VS content of post........
You can probably just call around and ask for quotes/estimates, you'll probably have better luck at getting a more appropriate answer that way.

i suggest Metro Pointe Orthodontics, Dr. Ritchie Mah across from station square (or whatever it's called now). pricing was fair and he's a good informative guy.
my advice
1.don't cheap out on your teeth
2.if you need ortho work, go to an orthodontist, not a dentist that can do some ortho work (some dentists can do that especially if it's just for 2 years)
i think for a consultation there's a small fee, and if you get your teeth molded to see what type of work is needed even more. 10 years ago it was like $50 consult and another $100 for the mold? don't quote me on that, call and find out

went to braces on main, dr samuel chiang (near the old block buster and seven eleven before kingsway)
had braces for a few years between 2006-2008 or 2009 i believe.... very very rude assistants (the cacausian ones) the chinese assistants were awesome. The doctor is a nice and busy guy, had no troubles with. My teeth came out 1000x better than my friends did in various ortho places around the lowermainland. Quality is top notch I would say.
was around 5k i believe
edit: google'd pictures, 2nd from left (brown hair cacausian lady, most rude person that have ever touched my teeth in my LIFE). other 2 are friendly and nice

I had this hygienist clean my teeth one day and for whatever reason she was rude and she was a butcher. I went to the reception and told them flat out that if that cow ever attempts to touch my mouth again I'm leaving and never coming back. She's never touched me again.

Went to braces on main as well, but had Dr. Daniel Cheng.
Went to get evaluated by 2 orthodontists, the first guy said he would need to take out 4 teeth and do jaw surgery. But Dr. Cheng said he can do it without taking teeth out and jaw surgery.

Robin Jackson on Blundell Richmond did mine. $8K for 2 years is highly recommended in Richmond. Don't cheap out.

thanks | That's reallllyyy expensive. I was quoted 5000 for invisalign, and 4.5k for regular braces.

Back several years when I had braces, I went and saw several orthodontists looking for the best recommended treatment and price. I went with Christine Mills in Oakridge.
It seems to have been sold to Brian Hong now (who I remember used to fill in for Christine before she retired). Dr. Brian Hong - Vancouver Orthodontist
I had some really fucked up teeth, so I had them for five years and paid $6000 (which I think was a steal).
Check them out.

you really want referrals from people and also your dentist (they should be providing you with advice based on what is best for your health).
mine cost $9K, but were off in a little over 18 months. I had gone for a consult years before to a local guy who wanted to take 4 teeth out. I ended up with all my teeth and a much healthier set of knashers!
NEVER cheap out on your teeth or health. $8K once is better than $5K twice (lots of ppl have to have braces twice in their life through poor work / advice).

Check them out. | +1 for dr mills. will be thanking her for the rest of my life.
not sure about Dr Hong, but at least there is good office infrastructure in place and I believe she passed the torch to him ( im hoping in that he can carry on her good work)

I had mine recently done by Oakridge Orthodontics but by Dr. Raymond Chung. I was recommended to go to him by my dentist and it was the best choice I could make. His staff was also a delight to deal with too. Very professional and make the experience that much easier. I went for a consultation which was free. I told him my situation and he was able to make it work. He does also payment plans and a small discount if you pay in full. I think 5%?
Also note, I didn't want braces at all because of the looks but there is a reason they recommend it as they very durable and easy to maintain versus clear braces which are fragile and invisiline which is a b**** to maintain.
Hope that helps

How many ortho's have you visited?
When I got mine done, the prices were similar across the board after my consultation with their respective clinics.
The cost for mine ranged from $4.5k to $5k. Then again, my teeth were not too bad to begin with. The more effed up your teeth are, the more the braces/invisilign will cost.

Remember to wear your retainer after! Lol
My parents probably dropped like 10k on my teeth when I was a kid, ended up not wearing my retainer for as long as I should have, front teeth became slightly crossed
It's not that noticeable and for myself, I actually enjoy going to the dentist and having my teeth cleaned, but after experiencing braces once, you couldn't pay me to put them back on.
