PPl have to understand that cable providers only provide the channels to you. Most of them don't actually own the channels itself (apart from channels which are own by SHAW or Bell etc etc). So even if the gov push for lower price on basic cable and pick and chose. Most of the providers have very little say in how much the package cost.
For example HBO and Movie central are the same company they can very well say you either package the channels or you have no right to broadcast those channels on your network. Also they could said force providers to set at min price of their package or channels.
So I am guessing when pay per channel comes on Dec 1 a lot of channels will cost a lot more than what they are now when you bundle them. You could be looking at $15 for HBO $7 for Food network etc etc......
