Very small rock chip in windshield...what am I in for?

I noticed a very small and shallow rock chip in my windshield. I almost thought it was a piece of debris but it's just very slightly chipped.

Anybody here ever get such a thing repaired?

If I want to get it repaired, how much am I looking at?

Will it generally show a repair mark on the windshield or is it pretty easy to blend the repair in to make it look invisible?

Size of the chip. Dime for scale

Get it filled so it won't spread. Places like broco glass/craftsman collision fill them for free. Will still be somewhat visible.

See if they can fill it, they might not fix it because its not deep enough. It more of a pit, rather than a chip.

I have one on my Sienna, I brought it to Broco and Speedy, both of them said they can't fix it.

Bring it in to see. But I doubt they'll be able to do anything to that.

Go to speedy glass and get it filled before it spreads. Something that small won't be noticeable once it's filled.

That's not going to spread. Honestly, I'd just leave it. The "repair" they do won't get rid of it.

I have had a chip like that but twice as large on our MDX windshield for 5 years. It has not spread at all or increased in size..............just leave it as is.

like everyone said, as long as it's a surface chip, it's fine. you're going to get more of those over time. the work truck i used to drive had a windshield covered with those you would think someone had sandblasted it

the one you should be worried about is a chip that is also deep, but hasn't cracked or done a starburst, etc.. like you can stick a toothpick or similar into it. those have a better chance of turning into a stress crack.

a glass shop will tell you if it's going to be a problem. they won't charge you for a minute of their time.

Chips don't generally spread, I say with from lots and lots of experience with rock chips big and small. The Element (and I guess every other upright windshield vehicle) is so prone to rock chips it's almost hilarious. I purposely avoid driving behind gravel trucks because of this.

I don't even bother replacing my windshield anymore, because I know every year I will get another 5+ chips on there. I'm currently on my 3rd one.

From what I have noticed over the past couple years, the only time a rock chip will spread, sending a crack farther and farther away across the windshield from the initial chip, is during winter when it's freezing cold outside and you blast the defroster up front max heat. I have witnessed in real time a crack spread a few inches out from a chip within a matter of minutes once when I was blasting the defroster in freezing temperatures.

I currently have one massive spider web rock chip on my windshield, among plenty of other small ones, it hasn't spread, I don't expect it to spread, so honestly with something that small I wouldn't be worried at all.

I would definitely not worry about it since it appears to only be a surface chip. If it is any deeper than that, it may spread but in my experience most tiny ones don't. If you're worried though, there are people who fix tiny cracks but generally they're much larger than that!
