Selling Alberta registered car in BC

So as the title states,

I'm thinking of selling my FX.

I will be posting it on Craigslist/kijiji in Alberta
But also in BC since I will be living in BC for the next little bit before moving to Ontario.

I was just wondering on what the process would be.
If the car was in BC but on AB plates and registration, would the buyer and I have to meet in Alberta to do the transfer paperwork?

Or would the buyer be able to import it to BC directly during the transfer process?

It's no big deal, just use the standard the Alberta bill of sale

http://www.foremostagencies.ca/sites...224226_bos.pdf

If you head down to an Autoplan ICBC broker to perform the transaction you might run into some serious headaches as the brokers might over complicate life not understanding that there is nothing unique to the process.

Just make sure the buyer is aware they will need to have the OOP completed, sign over the back of your Alberta registration, complete the bill of sale, and send the buyer on their way.

I've done it a few times and yes, all you need is the bill of sale and signed reg..

Once it's transferred and reg'd in BC, the new owner can get a permit to take it to a shop to get the OOP safety inspection done.

Can the new owner get temp insurance and drive it to the shop for inspection? Or does it have to be towed (like a VI) to the shop until it passes

It really all depends where the new purchaser is. If it is a BC purchaser, you can use a proper bill of sale or complete a BC transfer form(APV9T) for continuity. The vehicle needs to be inspected in BC before it can be registered here in BC. The new purchaser can buy a Tenporary operations permit to take it for inspection.

If the purchaser is someone other than BC purchaser, they can buy a BC temporary operations permit to drive the vehicle out of BC.
