I will admit I'd love to own a 911 R, but even the most die hard Porsche enthusiast must admit Porsche are legendary money hungry assholes. When the GT3 and GT3 RS came out they kept saying they wouldn't do a manual gearbox because they PDK is faster and a driver simply wouldn't be able to "keep up" blah blah blah. They kept saying that it would make the car slower and that in order for the experience to be truly optimized it had to remain auto/pdk. Fast forward a year and several reviews later by the automotive elite and they throw out a cock tease only available to the billionaires who buy toys like this for breakfast. Really sad when you know they could offer something pure like this to others and still make a good profit instead of keeping it exclusive. That's how they play their game and keep the demand for their creations but it's sad nonetheless. |
Cars, shoes, toys all the same B.S. Make a limited amount on purpose to cause a frenzy. You can still go on the Porsche website and configure a 911R. The next day you will get a call from a salesman saying there all sold out but they have a new 911 coming out with a manual trans. Give it a try.
