Renting car under 25 Is this possible? I know it's a long shot but I'm looking to rent a high performance vehicle for about 3 days, money not an issue just wondering if anyone knows any places in Vancouver that rent to under 25 Thanks |
Define "high performance" |
Are we talking like 16 or 24 or what? |
Money's not an issue? Go buy a car then. For a more real answer, you'll most likely need your parents to co-sign. Or just put a massive enough deposit that they want to rent it to you. Or, you could rent a Uhaul truck, get the full coverage on it, go off-roading, and have way more fun that way. But what do I know... vvvvvv--edit: class 5 don't mean shit mang, sorry. |
i'm 20 years old with my Class 5 license....when I say high performance I meant something like an M3, but I have doubts that I'll be able to find any place that will rent a 20 year old an M3 even if he has his class 5....Maybe I should just try phoning some places to see? |

You missed out on an S63 AMG rental for $200 not long ago lol |
Wont find ANY major car rental company that would even rent a dodge charger to someone under 25, let alone an m3. I know that Mr Rent a Car and low cost rental do have WRX/STI's as well as bmw 3 series coupes(not m3s) but even those require at least 25 years of age due to liability issues. If you wanna pick-up LGs just get a ricer honda  |
Hertz.ca has the Chevrolet Camaro listed as available to 20-22 age group. But that's probably the turbo 4 banger ... |
does anybody know of some shady Asian place in Richmond that will rent me an m3? |
I know some shady asian places that will rent you a corolla! |
How much are you willing to pay for renting a M3? |
Here's a tip ... try car2go, zipcar, or evo. |

I know you can rent regular vehicles under 25, but only from some places. Why do you want to rent an M3? |

Wait.....I read that wrong.BibleThump |
Did OP tell his friends he's going to buy an M3? :nyan: |
From what I remember when I was under 21, finding someone willing to rent you anything at all was tough, let alone an expensive car. I am 24 with a class 1 over three years old and I can only get econoboxes and most of the time. Just get a corolla or be honest with your friends/gf or something lol |

It's a fucking joke, I've actually gotten into jams a few times because the rental car company will not rent a vehicle to me which are out fitted properly for site visits. For example budget rents trucks which are mine compliant (buggy whip, beacon light, fire extinguisher, safety kit, etc.), But they won't rent that truck to me, they give me like a fucking Dodge avenger with which I cannot drive to like any site with. So usually I have to call a family member or go that route in order to bypass there little system. All because some little twat wanted to rent an M3 and wrapped it around a pole. smh. |
^ that sounds strange, because Budget rented me trucks for work multiple times when I was 24. They were a complete fucking gongshow to deal with, and I'd never deal with them again now that I'm over 25, but they did eventually get me more or less what I needed. It was always booked through my office though which may have helped. You might have to push them a bit because even though we booked a 4WD pickup with winters first they tried to give me a sedan, then they tried to give me a 2WD pickup, then they tried to give me a 1 ton (long story but I couldn't use it) then they finally gave me a 3/4 ton with winters. As interesting as the inevitable destruction of the first two vehicles would have been I didn't want to get stuck in shit stain nowhere Alberta in the middle of the winter. |
you can rent a car under 25 but you cant rent a speciality car from most companies but say if you are a National Executive Elite, you can grab anything from the executive aisle even if you are under 25, and you might find a Ford Mustang GT, C300, 528i as some of the "nicest" cars I've seen in Vancouver airport locations. if you are looking to rent a high performance car like a Porsche, R8, Lambo etc from like Hertz dream collection in US, you need to be 25 years or older and they ask for 4 credit cards to put a hold on each. |
Not sure how it is in Canada as all the times I've rented a vehicle it was down in the US. Under 25 iirc, as far as the US goes, they charge extra on top of the rental. Pretty sure it's the same up in Canada. I am referring to regular vehicles, no high performance or other specialty vehicles. Also, speaking from experience, because Hertz had some disastrously shitty service when I was in LA two summers ago and wanted to find some way to compensate me, they were ready to let me choose literally any vehicle on the lot, which at the time included the C63, E63, SL550, M5, and all the V8 muscle cars. Unfortunately, due to insurance restrictions from being 20 years of age at the time, they were unable to rent anything over x amount of engine displacement to me (forgot exactly how much) so I settled for a V6 Mustang convertible which I was still happy with given the LA weather and how much of an upgrade it was from a shitty base model Jetta and base model Altima (had to swap cars twice for car issues). Thinking back, the guy was probably bsing because those luxury cars are part of Hertz's dream collection which requires you to be 25+ |
