Spring Cleaning

The detailing category is pretty dead so I thought I'd ask this to get more people involved. Now that Spring is here, who is starting to plan their Spring clean up for their vehicle(s)?

I started tonight. In prep for the meet on Sunday, and the spring season, I hit th project car with nice clay job, coat of glaze, and sealant on top. That's as far as I got as I was tired and got lazy lol.

I'll more than likely throw a coat of wax on her for good measure before Sunday

Then the fun starts on my daily and the wifes car. Both are going to need mild corrections for swirls/etc. But gives me a chance to try some new products.

I plan to do my first full detail tomorrow, kinda wish I had sealant. Already washed and clayed most areas.

Looks like fun! Where are you located? If you're near Langley I could give you a sealant or something with more durability if you want.

Vancouver, so I did it for the first time, did the hood. One door and the trunk. Got like 90% of the swirls gone, probably need to do more passes in the cutting stage. Probably going to do the rest of the car after I wash it again. Do I need to clay again before I polish?

Okay I did clay last time, so It should be pretty fast to prep for polishing.

Doing my spring cleaning in a few weeks - been nearly two years since a deep clean. Got a bottle of lemon scented IronX ready to go, probably clean up the winter wheels properly too as I might get new summers or refinish the current summer wheels.

Did a quick interior clean up 2 weeks ago when I did an oil change so probably just exterior work this time around.

How well does IronX work compared to other wheel cleaners?

I use it on the body and the wheels and it's far stronger than regular wheel cleaner though it's single purpose - just there to dissolve iron deposits that build up on the car. I use it along with a clay bar - IronX clears up the metal and the clay bar clears up the rest of it.

Generally I'd say it works pretty awesome.

Ken at Autowerkes uses it for all his big detail jobs.
