Has anyone tried canadaunlocking.com?

Looking to unlock my wife's S5 and my iPhone 6S. Rather than paying $50 bucks from our providers, this website seems like a much cheaper option.

Has anyone used this service before and is this the best option?

TIA

I've used any of the providers on howard forums. I've found that Android phones to be way cheaper to unlock than Apple phones

EBAY merchants I have done before, but usually takes 24-72hours.
I know when I had blackberry years back I used unlockace.
It was $1 and instantly,
I've never unlocked a smartphone such as samsung, apple myself though.

I would suggest not to do that with your iPhone, it locks itself if you ever need to restore etc

For iPhones just pay the provider the $50. It's usually cheaper and always safer since those sites usually rely on some corrupt employee on the inside stealing codes for profit.

My dad gave me his old iPhone 5 locked on Telus (I am with Rogers) when he upgraded phones. I went to 2 kiosks in Guildford mall who wanted $100 to unlock it on the spot the other wanted $70 to leave it with them for a full day. I looked at some of the online unlocking services but most seemed a bit sketchy and had mixed reviews.

With the registered owner of the contract and phone on hand the Telus carrier unlocked it on the spot for $50; well worth the $30-$40 difference of an online service, I have spent $40 on way stupider things. The peace of mind knowing that the phone won't randomly lock again, or have anything unexpected happen was worth that alone.
