You guys are talking about big corporations only. They will survive because they have the capital to have machines run there businesses.
As a small business owner, if the min. Wage went up to $15, I will need to pay my managers more than the idiot that makes $15 or it won't be fair. My staff will be cut in half, your bbt will cost $10, you're wait time will be half an hour, I will have to use the shittiest quality of ingredients, or I'll probably be out of business like the other 90% of businesses out there.

The system gets money from you me and everyone else who has the mean. It doesnt grow money on a tree.
I support living wage for essential workers only when we have 0 mean to replace them. That can be transit drivers, hospital workers, etc. The moment there is a mean to replace them, the system better shows them the door. Trixie and Beef flipping burgers at McD are not essential workers.
Some of these guys then can obtain new skills, education to transition to a new career that a robot cant do. Some won't and they can say goodbye to quality of life while setting up Occupy camp to protest.
Over the last century, a lot jobs have disappeared while new ones added. For the better. The cycle goes on.

Perhaps a business should have a base wage for their workers based on what they make that year. If you're raking in billions in profit maybe you shouldn't get to pay your workers the same as a mom and pop shop just staying above water. Just spitballing here...Anyways, a company that can replace people with robots are going to do it eventually as technology gets better.

No point in having a minimum wage without a maximum wage.

Once enough jobs are automated [like robots serving french fries, bus drivers, delivery, etc] what will happen is a basic salary for everyone in the country. IE you get paid $30K a year just for being there. That will give you enough to get by with whatever comfortable life you want, and from there if you want to make more, you can do whatever you want on top of that. Schools should also be subsidized, making that accessible to everyone as well.
The argument over minimum wage is a dying one IMO

I believe in paying for performance. If you feel as though your employer does not compensate you adequately for the work you perform, and you're actually a strong performer, it should not be difficult to find another employer who will pay you more.
Capitalism.. I swear, it works if you just let it work.
