Went to The Fish Counter as per Verdasco's recommendation

Didn't take photos because the food was so damn good


Ordered Ling Cod + chips and the Oyster Po Boy, shared with wife for quick dinner

Oyster Po Boy was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten in my life - for $9.50, like what Verdasco said, it's a steal. REALLY REALLY good, oysters fried perfectly and seasoned well. Kimchi works well with the combo. Verdasco's photos are more accurate on what it looks like. DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK FOR THIS AGAIN and I have already recommended The Fish Counter to a few friends already

Ling Cod + Chips, also extremely good, just as good as Go Fish, but larger pieces. Fried very well, was not over cooked and the oil wasn't gross old oil. It was nice and golden brown, not overfried. Ling Cod was very fresh, I didn't even season it.

Overall 9/10

Good customer service. -1 because fries were average.

I'm by no means a fish + chips expert, but I have to say that this was probably the best fish + chips I've had locally in the Lower Mainland

dam u rs hagha i caved in and went today, got the halibut with salad instead of fries, and oyster po.. jesus christ best oyster po ever!! really good light batter but still crispy af
prob gun try out their sandwiches or taco next time, seen a bunch of ppl gettin it

If you are ever in england.. this is one of my favourites.. look at their selection of fish vs ours! (granted they are "cheap" fish)

As usual, fish and tartar was insanely good. Fries needed salt and vinegar (malt for me) as they come out plain.

Think next time I'll ask for separate plates as the plates are small and they lie the fish on top of a plate of steaming fries. Should keep both crispier.

My wife still has a picture of her and her girlfriends hung up there from an Amsterdam trip they took ~13 years ago. My 9 and 7 year old kids got to see it for the first time today. So did my 1 year old but I dont think he'll remember :lol Still pretty cool.

The only thing I would say about fish counter, is that I don't like their fries. Maybe it's too natural, maybe i love that coat of whatever batter costco uses, but I find their fries a bit soggy to my liking. Oyster Po-boy from here any day.

I'm allergic to fish by the way so I can't really eat the fish and chips.

Went to fish counter and it was good. A lot of fries which I could not finish.

I usually ask for my fries to be double-fried everywhere i go :drunk:

C Lovers . not too hip an atmosphere in their restaurants, but best battered fish i've had. ( i usually get the halibut.)

decided to go clovers for unlimite cod fish and hips for $14 or flying pig for lobster risotto / pulled pork poutine :drunk: :badpokerface:

Finally had the Oyster Po Boy from Fish Counter yesterday. OMG.

Mine didn't look like Verdasco's, so I assume it depends which cook is making it on a certain day. They put the kimchi below the oysters, which makes it look from asthetic standpoint, a bit more plain... but the sandwich is anything but that. Tons of flavor, the oysters are big and sweet, the batter is light and crispy. Even the baguette they use is really high quality. One of the best sandwiches I ever had.

My next cheat day will consist of oyster po boy and poutine. :sweetjesus:

Double up your oysters on the po-boy, when I cheat on my cheat days I IDDQD, IDKFA, IDCLIP, IDBEHOLD, IDCLEV to the last level and fuck that spider demon right up the ass.

Go big or go home. Church's chicken is a few blocks down dunk those fucking chicken legs in gravy and pound back an apple pie too.

Damn I love Austin Fish and Chips.. Sat lunch special cod for $8.50 each.
