The absolute best place a few years ago was at broadmore mall in Richmond (3 road and williams) owned by this old Chinese couple for 10 years, it was next to the kfc. But as is the way of life, the complex was face lifted, lease prices were jacked up and they were forced to leave. Very sad :(

i remember it was pretty cheap as well. Plus they sprinkled some sort of seasoning on top.

If anyone goes down to Portland, then I recommend "Frying Scotsman". Fries are shit tho

went to fish counter yesterday, had the Po Boy and 1 pc halibut

honestly i dont know why i had the po boy because i hate cooked oysters, and it basically was what i expected lol.. ate about half and tossed it, not for me lol.

Halibut was good though

because of this thread, finally went to fish counter (even though it's only a few blocks from where i live???). I'm going to have to say it's the best fish i've had by far in vancouver. Go fish isn't even 1/2 as good as them. Price is steep for 2 pieces cod, but oh so worth it.

Also had the oyster po' boy and loved it. This is the best deal by far at only $9.50. too much bread for my liking. i ate it open faced instead and it was perfect.

Had the FC Po Boy today and much like Hondaracer, only confirmed that I am much more of a raw oyster person myself. Nonetheless, decent sandwich but probably one and done for me.

The slaw was delicious though.

I'll try the regular fish and chips next time.

Been to Fish Counter a few times. Had the Arctic Char the most recent time and thought it was decent. I prefer Cod over Halibut. The batter is on point.
I usually get 1pc fish along with the Po Boy which is what most have said, very good. However the last time I had it the oysters were not very fresh and tasted a bit "off". Couldn't finish it. Next time I'll be getting 3pc. Maybe get the Po Boy after summer...

FISH COUNTER! thank you to whomever listed it in the first place. I overdid it and ate with my eyes over the weekend, 3 pieces of cod with fries :lol

Everything I like about Go Fish (Fish Counter could actually be slightly ahead for me) and I get to avoid Granville Island :D

My fish allergies prevent me from enjoying fish and chips anywhere.... :alone:

The oyster po-boy is still amazing even if I cannot eat the fish and chips from Fish Counter.

Moby Dick's

https://scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...52633193_o.jpg

First time trying it here. Honestly don't see the hype about it. Was a huge line waiting for take out and I waited 15min for a table too. Was not impressed at all. I passed by Granville Island a couple of days before and had better fish and chips at the food court. Also tried Pajo's about a year ago and it was outright nasty. Did these places go downhill? I've gotta give Fish Counter a try.

On the upside, their poutine was pretty good.

fliptuner 08-21-2016 07:08 PM

The fish and chips at Moby Dicks is just ok. I like the clam chowder there, though.

Went to Austin in Pitt Meadows and had the oyster combo - 4 df oysters, 1 cod, chips and slaw. Left pretty satisfied. 4/5

wtf crab poy boy.... neverh eard of it!

Liquid_o2 09-13-2016 09:19 AM

Pajos has gone downhill in the past year. It was never amazing, but always solid fish and chips. Now it is below average in my books.
