Black Lives Matter Vancouver is asking police to voluntarily withdraw its float from the upcoming Pride Parade, as a "show of solidarity and understanding" that officer involvement in the march creates an unsafe atmosphere for some communities.

The open letter published by the activist group on Friday comes weeks after its Toronto counterparts halted the city's parade until organizers signed off on a list of demands including banning police floats from future marches.

It seems like every black person in the states is afraid of the cops. From politicians to a surgeon who worked on the 11 cops who where shot in Dallas. He said in a press confidence when he is not dressed as a doctor he is afraid of the police. I can't relate to their views nor understand their plight since I'm not black, but I do find these things annoying on a personal level because I've never done anything to impede or bring harm to a black person, so that's where I think the disconnect is for most people. The number of people actually against them on the daily, percentage wise, is quite small.

They need a focus like any group does... Fuck the police isn't one, there's a shit tonne of black cops and there's an even bigger shit tonne of actually good cops... But they paint with a brush just as much as they're being painted. What do they actually want? New world order? Vigilante justice? These are things they need to get better at defining if they want the general public to be supportive of them.

The LGBT movement is widely accepted nowadays because it does have a distinct goal and message... more like that, less like blocking streets and yelling about killing pigs. Where would LGBT be today if they had started out with marches yelling to kill straight people?

Black Lives Matter Just Delivered Their 10 Point Manifesto, and This Is What They Want

This is the official BLM Manifesto. Actions and motives put forth by other groups can't necessarily be acknowledged as sanctioned BLM actions. We don't even know if BLM Vancouver actually has a connection to the original, true BLM group. As you say, let's not paint the entire movement with the same brush based on the actions of the ones we hear about in the media or the vigilantes who use the guise of BLM to hide. I also agree with you. What you're saying makes sense and is productive. A little research will likely help you understand their official motives and goals but at the ends of the day you're not telling anyone to go back to their own country or to go fuck themselves.

1. End "broken windows" policing, which aggressively polices minor crimes in an attempt to stop larger ones.

2. Use community oversight for misconduct rather than having the police department decide what consequences officers should face.

3. Make standards for reporting police use of deadly force.

7. Provide more training for police officers.

8. End for-profit policing practices.

A reasonable manifesto. Feminists also claim a desire for equality and reference the old dictionary definition of their movement. Yet the rhetoric and actions among many feminists do not align with their claims. Fewer and fewer people are identifying with feminism because of these radicals.

Radical behavior is counterproductive and divisive. BLM is building rift between themselves and the LGBT movement, police, and and other sympathetic groups. This group disrupted the presidential campaign of it's only real ally, Bernie Saunders, multiple times. It's hard to say if that had any torpedoing effect to his campaign, but it certainly was counterproductive.
