Man, PNE is tiring.......... I'm getting too old for this shit. Put a toonie down on my zodiac sign and won 2-1. Used that money to play colour wheel. Lost it, but played one more toonie and won the 10-1. Got the hell out of there, while I was ahead.

Tonnes of people for freebie day. Got hand stamped, but not sure if I'd be going back tonight. Next week for sure, as it's another freebie day.

Jimmies is more hype than anything else, but I'm all about tradition. My son got the 20 dollar BBQ thing. It was good. So was the gourmet doughnuts.

I couldn't find the jesus tent. A good friend of mine from ages ago volunteers there and I only see him once a year at the PNE. Can someone tell me where it is, so I can go there next week?

god bless..............

Son can't remember, but I think it was the one on the left as suggested by another member who posted it in this thread.

Oh, had some popcorn shrimp on chips, too. Was good.

AND............. Freestyle Coke! I brought my refill cup from last year with me and filled up for a dollar! That's cheaper than McD's, 'cause no tax. It's just east of the CTV tent/booth.

As a side note, the PNE pep band was rocking' it. Everyone was diggin' it. Two chicks in the Timmies trailer right next door were really into it.... dancin' and prancin' to the tunes.

Also, if you are a BCAA member or have travel insurance through them, bring your card to the BCAA tent. Never mind the huge Plinko game, although the cooler is nice....... get the savings booklet from the gals who are handing them out there. Need to show membership card.

Coupons to a fair (pun intended) amount of food vendors.

EDIT: Just quickly looked over the BCAA booklet. coupons for 70+ vendors at the PNE, including an extra pound of pulled pork at Gators when you buy a Florida Family Feast (whatever that is), lol. The coupons cover rides and games, as well as, food and merchandise at the Marketplace.

Has anyone bought the coupon book they sell for $2 at guest services this year? Just wondering what's in it and if it's worth getting. May go next week or this weekend at night, not sure yet. I don't do rides, mainly just shows/seeing friends.

Every year I've used a coupon from the Province, I think or else its the Sun, that has a coupon to redeem for a free book. Haven't looked this year, but I would imagine they are still doing it.

Just happened to see a copy of The Province downstairs, found it on page 12. This is what you will be looking for:

This is also what my pops, MG1, was talking about from the BCAA tent.

Or, get it free from BCAA tent. Just use anybody's card, they don't check for ID. My son used his travel insurance card from BCAA - that works, too. I didn't have my membership card with me, but had the membership number on my phone, lol. They accepted it. Plus, my trusting smile helps.

The lineup wS stupid, and the show "sold out" an hour and a half before opening so we had to watch in the dueling pianos beer garden, was still great though the sound is really good in there.

Hoping to go on Saturday with a bunch of people, foreigner is playing however and I'm sure it's gonna be stupid packed

Is this the cheapest deal for fair pass entry? Might be going this weekend and so far all I've seen is this BCAA deal and the online one for $12 off the PNE website

FYI tmr is vancity day at the pne. $5 entry and can bring a plus one for $5. Just need to show your vancity debit/credit card, also don't need to pay with it, so you can borrow a family members card if you don't bank with vancity. Offer valid all day September 1st only.

pne start dates is a F*cking joke!

why have it in the last 2 weeks when it statistically ALWAYS rain / cloud every year?!?

i read some article that it will start in late July when it is prime sunny, hope they do that next year.

Going on opening day was the best feeling, hearing hedley at night when riding rides and having sunny weather all day long
