This is a good video also that shows why douchebag drivers who weave through traffic and tailgate cause more traffic jams. However, I guess it can't be helped since it's also based on driver reactions. Seems like autonomous driving can help ease congestion.

Driving home east bound on hwy 91, 2AM (literally 30min ago), five people sitting in the left lane. Two people in the right. Why??????

I'll never understand what's going on in the head of the driver that goes 80km/h side by side in the left lane, then when people start passing on the right lane (which is legal) he speeds up to 110 km/h and sticks in the left lane...

Some people just drive with emotions and pride over logic.

HOV is to reduce emissions and provide an expressway but not a passing lane. I'm not going to break 2 laws (probably already speeding, then crossing solid white) just because the guy behind me is impatient and riding on my ass. I will yield only when the lines become dotted but not any sooner EleGiggle

no you idiot, the left lane is for passing so move the fuck over

God forbid when you drive a car that is a bit nicer than average. Left lane hoggers really take issues with you passing them on the right so they speed up to block and being the model citizen you are you dont want to risk speeding even more so you are stucked.

Very true, but I honestly don't feel guilty about it, in fact I'll look over to see who's driving when I pass them in the right lane while speeding. If I'm really frustrated and there are no other cars around I'll make it a point to get back in the left lane and drive just under the pace they were doing to reciprocate the love.

I see this on the upper levels highway all the time

but I think the local signage says 'keep right except to pass'

My issue is people crawling past on the left lane.

Was on Sea to Sky and the passing lanes are only so long. So I'm stuck behind this idiot crawling past the slow traffic. Just as the passing lane ends, I'm forced to merge back in with the pack of idiot slow drivers cause the dickhead that was passing at 90 blocked me in the passing lane. Moron.

This is why I hate it when cops set up speed traps at the end of passing lanes (i.e. Malahat).
