Keeper leagues work the same as most other hockey leagues, with the exception that you get to keep X # of players at the end of the season to carry over to the following season.

The RS keeper league allows each manager to select 7 skaters (any position) and 1 goalie to carry over to the upcoming season. I ended up keeping Ovechkin, Stamkos, Tavares, Burns, Subban, Panarin, Klingberg, and Andersen.

The rest of the players that I didn't keep (as well as the other managers) gets put back into the free agent pool where we draft from.

I'm down to join the keeper league as well if there's extra spots still

Funny thing is that I took over that team from another Revscener that already had most of those players. I think it was Panarin and Klingberg that I picked up during the season, so you can blame the other guys for letting him have them :lol
