Sandy's furniture at united blvd is pretty good. I used them for my Natuzzi a few years ago.

I bought most of my stuff from scan designs. The price is decent and furniture looks modern/contemporary.

Cheaper alternative: Mobler

If you are looking for leather, only buy real leather couches.

Scan designs has some good ones.

Armind 09-20-2016 09:58 PM

Skeptical about these guys since they're near my work..

Products | Quality West Sofa Imports

Some of their craigslist ads say no tax. T_T

lookking to buy an office chair that is comfortable for long sitting (gaming and work at home)

that is around $100.00, any recs? is my budget limited to ikea only lol

Derek_N84 09-22-2016 08:44 AM

Vancouver Sofa Company wasn't so bad when I went. Customized a couch, got a discount and then pitched the asian pay with cash no tax :lol

Other places I've picked up furniture lately are West Elm, Moes, and Scan Design. Don't bother going to Inspiration if you're thinking of saving money, walked out of that place so fast :lawl:

I manage a furniture store and I will recommend 2 things. For cheap but decent quality sectionals, sofa and love seats, Ashley Furniture has good bang for buck stuff. For bed frames I would go with solid wood construction. Trust me. Mako Furniture in Surrey has great real wood bed frames starting about 500$ for Queen size. I order from both of those companies for my store.

Berz out.

Anyone heard of Stanton Sofas brand? Any good?

jtrinh 10-16-2016 07:31 PM

How'd your furniture shopping go? Been looking for the same things as well.

Here's a real tip- if you're looking for a couch that you'll be sitting on everyday and want it to last, buy real genuine leather. Not the bonded/vinyl/leather.
Real leather won't come cheap, but it won't fall apart on you after a few years. And I mean literally falling apart...the leather itself will ablctually start flaking off.

I'm not sure what your budget is, but places like the brick and JR won't be selling quality couches. Most of their couches are bonded leather.
I've been to liquidation furniture before and the sell really modern looking furniture without the quality.

At the end of the day u gotta decide on what kind of abuse you're going to be putting on your couch and how long you want it to last.

There's also grades and thickness of leather as well that will shoot the price up.

You gotta ask yourself if you want a quality piece of furniture that will last you down the road, or if you'd want to get rid of it after a few years and change up the look.

Agreed! We got this couch for 8k and it still look brand new after 5 years or so.

Is the same with clothing. You buy something with quality and it will last you for years VS something cheap that will hardly last a season.

Bringing this thread back up, looking to get some furniture for my apartment, looking for bedframe etc!

Picked some stuff up from the EQ3 warehouse sale and that was a super steal sale, anyone else have something coming up?

dapperfied 02-08-2017 06:53 PM

I just bought a bed frame from Moes, it's currently on sale. Eliza dark grey.

Also looking for a night stand, were there any nice ones at the EQ3? Nothing is showing up on their site in terms of sale items.

How much of a discount was the sale?

Hondaracer 02-09-2017 07:05 PM

i'm looking for 4 larger lounge chairs

somthing along the lines of these:

https://hivemodern.com/public_resour...b-italia-1.jpg

can be leather, fabric, whatever. Just looking for oversized ones that are comfortable, looking to spend under $300 each if possible, Costco has a decent selection and Wayfair.ca has some but i'd probably order from costco first if anything.. anything recommendable locally?

Some stuff was insanely discounted.

I bought a white leather sectional couch, originally around $3,000 - after discount was $1,000. A Hatch dining table around $900, I got it for around $150 and got two Yves floating shelves for $5 each... Pretty good discounts?

Hahaha.... and this was on the 3rd or 4th last day where they discount it more in the later stages but less variety.

No good coffee tables were at the warehouse sale, nor bed frames that I liked..

Is Moe's pricing okay?

dapperfied 02-10-2017 09:09 AM

Moes got a no tax event going on right now

I saw some similar chairs at Scan Design today. I don't have any additional details though as I wasn't looking for this type of chair.
