What to do after minor accident?

1 Attachment(s)
Last Friday my wife was driving my car (we own only one car and it's on my name). She stopped at a stop sign near holdom skytrain station. Suddenly she loosen the brake i guess and touched the front car. The lady of that car didn't say anything that day after both looked at the cars. Now after 3 days she called and said there is damage and she got sick standing in rain (it was raining Friday evening).
I've attached the photo of that car that my wife took.

Deny, deny, deny. Delete this post.

She got sick from standing in the rain?!?!?!

I don't want to live on this planet anymore

After you're involved in an accident (no matter how minor), ICBC gives everyone an absurd amount of time to report it. I think it's like a year or something.

Send your photo in and claim there was no damage. ICBC will ask to bring both cars.

Also fuck that woman. Got sick standing in the rain...shake my fucking head.

inv4zn 09-26-2016 11:07 PM

Completely unrelated, every now and then I'd be sitting at a red light, knowing it's gonna be a while. And there are certain cars that lurch forward a tad, randomly.

The light is still red, everyone is still stopped, and one car will inch forward, then brake hard. And then inch forward a bit more and brake hard again. Repeat.

I've always wondered what the fuck. Are they super anxious to gun it off the line? Do their legs hurt if stepping on the brake pedal for so long? Maybe they heard some stupid bs that staying on your brakes too long is bad for the car?

Now I know that it is just OP's wife.

Strange story... Did your wife stop her car right up behind the car in front.
How do you let go of the brake and immediately hit the car in front.

Do this. Let ICBC sort it out if the other driver is giving you shit.

Spoon 09-27-2016 06:27 AM

In the rain, I doubt you can really see if there's damage. Get ICBC to do a matchup.

If she missed work due to stress/sickness/injury etc, she can possibly make a claim for loss wages. For a simple fever/cold, tell her to take Tylenol. :fuckthatshit:

GLOW 09-27-2016 07:56 AM

icbc will take care of it, it's their job. do what inv4zn said. i hope icbc will read her the riot act if she tries to make a claim for getting sick standing in the rain. chances are they'll just tell her to fuck off FeelsBadMan

As stated above. Take the first step, go ahead and contact ICBC and get those photos into them. At least it's then on record of there being no/minimal damage to the vehicle. Then they can deal with her sniffles.

I'm just curious as to what exactly she's looking to get out of saying she got sick standing in rain...I hate 2016

This thread can be summed up in a haiku.

Life is a challenge
Life is harder when you're dumb
wifey must hold brake

Thanks.
I know it was my wife's fault, she lost concentration for a moment.
Even if there is any damage done i am willing to pay it. I hope icbc will not charge for getting sick standing in the rain for 5 minutes.
I wanted to know the procedures.
I've never dealt anything like this before.

She was focused to something else outside, didn't realize breaker was loose and car is rolling slowly forward. But yes it's her fault.

Come on c-lai

On a serious note, report to ICBC and ICBC will bill you. Your premiums only go up if you don't pay for the bill. Never settle privately. ICBC will also assess the damage so the other party doesn't jack up the repair cost with the bodyshop they chose. (Not too much anyways)

yray 09-27-2016 10:42 AM

your insurance will expire in 2 days.

Better renew asap and then go through ICBC.

320icar 09-27-2016 10:46 AM

Lol wut. That's not his car. Clearly the person his wife rolled in to

FerrariEnzo 09-27-2016 11:17 AM

Do I need a magnify glass to see this damage or should we call in CSI... I bet they can "enhanced" this

6o4__boi 09-27-2016 11:25 AM

i swear to god, i thought this entire thread was all about ED and PE

dvst8 09-27-2016 03:41 PM

If there is no damage at all, she wont get anything.

Was gonna say... just tell her you swear it's never happened to you before and that you were probably just tired or stressed from work.

You don't. She was probably looking at her phone not realizing the car was moving forward slowly. I've seen this more than once..

Then your wife shouldn't be driving.
